Just found this on Facebook, didn't go last year but heard it was a good show.

Has anyone been before? Do they offer good discounts on lenses etc?

Anyone already booked up?

Went last year - used to be Focus on Imaging but morphed into The Photography Show.

It's a decent show with most of the big names there. Plenty of kit to play around with.

Discount-wise, there are often good deals from some of the retailers. Last year Calumet and one other were offering double-cashback on Canon gear - not sure if they'll do the same again this year as there is a cashback promotion on.

I've been going to these shows for a number of years now. Normally I go for the day but as I always run out of time I'm going for 2 days this year and even then I'm going to struggle to fit everything in.

You will find discounts and gear for sure I saved a few hundred pounds on 70-200 2.8 a couple of years ago. I have a shopping list for this year to :)

I don't get the people that take their camera (or even multiple cameras), and parade round like they are a pros, they just get in the way so much when its crowded!

Doesn't that mean you'll have to pay two entry fees for both days?

Yes but a ticket purchased in advance is about £13 so £26 for 2 days isn't bad considering what's there, although you can get trade tickets which are free and covers every day :)

I usually take my camera with me, if I'm looking for a new lens for example I like to try it on my own Camera. Not every year is the same but some years there have been fashion walkways, Bowen have had some nice setups where you use your own camera etc.

I am going and for free as usual!

Just sign up on their website as a pro and make up a studio name etc and expect the ticket through the post a couple of days later.

Many of them are just sad cases wanting to take pics of the models :)

On a more serious note, I take mine as the nice people on the Canon stand will often let you mount their demo lenses on your own body to try out.

I went once when it was the Focus show. Going on Saturday 21st, but I'm a photography teacher, taking 15 students with me and we dont have to pay this time.

Would like to get my hands on the new Canon M3, really want something lighter for travel than my 5D MKIII.

I do not why London is not a venue !

I have been to the Gadget Show at NEC and Excel London. I must say the NEC was much, much better.
The only reason I can think off why there may have been such a difference is. When I went to NEC Gadget show it was 2008 I think and Excel mat have been 2010. So the recession may have been a factor !
