And I thought green laning would scratch it...

I live on a private road and own the road along the boundary of my house. The neighbours have right of way but the general public don't. If people kept parking on my verge then I would put bollards up too.

Confused by the images, are these 2 separate sides or the same; looks like 2 dents. If so, did she not notice the first time she hit the bollard?

I was wondering though, does any liability fall on the resident, surely you can't just put metal bollards up that close to the road? Would be a tricky one though as it is a private road.

Yup, totally the resident's fault.

I also often drive into walls and across people's lawns because I'm incapable of sticking to the road or just fancy a shortcut, and if my car is damaged in the process, I always make sure to say within the owner's earshot "well that was a stupid place to put that bollard/pond/house/child!"

Really winds me up that people think they can just do what they want on their own land with no consideration for those of us who got our driving licences in a christmas cracker!:mad:

I don't even know what to say, this has to be a contender for one of the stupidest threads of the year and it's not even April.

Even if it was something like a skip, or an illegally parked car, just because it shouldn't be there doesn't mean you should chase the person responsible because your wife chooses to drive into a stationary object.

Even Saul Goodman would laugh you out of his office for that.

I could argue that traffic calming crap or random street furniture 'shouldn't be there', but it doesn't mean I could blame anybody but myself if I drove into it!

No different to a car being parked on a verge at the side of the road. If you hit it, does it make it their fault because it's too close to the road?

Has anyone thought of the bollard? What does the bollard have to say about this?

Teach your woman to drive properly. She's giving wives the bad name they already have.

So is the bollard ok then?

Well it's unavailable for comment so it can't be feeling so good :( Evidently it's had a right old time removing paint off of itself ;)

To the OP, buy your wife a dashcam? Could be entertaining? Also, you sure your not just blaming the mrs because she is unable to defend herself here :D
