What can I expect from crossfired 7950's at 1440p?

Guys, I've got the brand new BenQ 27" 1440p 144HZ Freesync screen coming tomorrow from ocuk. What can I expect from them until the 390x arrives? Any chance of pushing 120/144fps in games like bf4? My cards chew it up at 1080, but wondering if I can still get the most out of the screen on these cards until the 390x beast arrives.

CF will be coming in April for CF 1440P and single card on the 19th of this month. Not sure if the 7950s support freesync though?

No they don't already knew that though. Was just wondering what frames I can get with them until I purchase a 390x later this year?

If the 7950s are chewing BF4 up at 1080 then you might not be far off with your new monitor. Regardless, I reckon you'll be fine and if anything detrimental occurs, it's as simple as reducing the effects least appeasing to you to achieve an acceptable performance while you wait.

Game on.

I was getting around 60-90FPS in Battlefield 4 with 7950 Crossfire overclocked at 1100/1400 @ 1440P maximum settings Tony.

I play BF4 at the moment on Ultra, 2xmsaa and 150% res scale with frames capped at 90fps. I thought the 150% res scale would be the equivalent of running something around the 1440p ball park. Just got my screen now anyway, will hook it up later and see whats what.

edit: cheers Matt, your reply came in as i was typing this one.

Resolution scaling is very similar to running actual 1440P, only a few fps less demanding than the real thing.

The power of crossfire 7950's :) such boss cards #1440pnoproblemo :). Just messing around, Ultra setting but no AA applied can maintain up around 144FPS on the test range with dips on 64 man conquest down to about 100fps.

Same spot with 2xmsaa applied at Ultra

yeah i have the his iceq version as well and they work great iv been holding out for a single card that matches my xfire setup hopefully soon that willl be realized :)

If in DirectX11 no you won't. No idea with Mantle although probably not.

Can do 144fps just fine in DX, not tried Mantle as no need.

Nice, now post a screenshot with some action actually happening in game! :p

Sure, not easy in the heat of battle to take your hand from mouse and screenie, but done a few in different places during 64 man conquest on Zavod. These are full Ultra at 1440 obviously, with no MSAA. Not the nicest looking map as we all know because of the large amount or horrible vegetation in the game at low res, but hey ho, it's only to show the 144fps on these cards at 1440p.

Looks grand Tony, wasn't it stoned raider who mentioned that msaa doesn't work properly in bf4 anyway so there's no real need for higher than 2x at 1440.

yep it was Setter mate.

I do like to have a bit of AA, but the response and motion clarity at 144fps with msaa off is epic. As always, Raider knows his stuff when he comes to fps. Getting used to this screen in BF is weird, going to take a while.
