Bottleneck occurs when either the CPU can push higher frame rate than the graphic card(s) could (graphic card bottleneck), or when graphic card can higher frame rate than the CPU (CPU bottleneck).

The frame rate you would get is the lower one out of the two frame rates. It's probably not the most perfect way to describe it, but it is probably the easiest way to understand.

Checkout the individual fps of the graphics tests comparing Gregsters 3930k to my 5960X both running at the same clockspeed (4.4ghz) and both running a 290X @1200/1500 there is practically nothing in it.

There is no huge magic advantage with Haswell E


If Greg and me were both running something like Cinebench then the difference would be very clear in extra Haswell efficiency and number of cores but for driving GPUs this counts for very little.

More pretty useless figures. Why do people benchmark stupid crap when they get these cards, knowing that they won't really help?

Give us some Firestrike or Heaven FGS.
 
It's not useless to the many people who'll buy the cards for compute as well, those who don't want to drop 2 grand or whatever it is on a quadro card.

Those are the people like me who have a real world use for the Titan, so to them it's cheap.

I want to see games and game benchmarks :D

the trouble with this Graphics section compared to the rest of the forum, is that it attracts lively banter and of course trouble... it cant be helped it'll always be the same here, that's why so many threads get deleted.
