What can I expect from crossfired 7950's at 1440p?

Wierd how Tony? Defo gonna get one of these once the crossfire driver is out (and I've raised the funds). Do you notice the need for anymore AA at 1440?

I have 290s so I guess could always up the res scaling...

You should try mantle with you 7950s - without AA you might sneak under 3GB at that res. it really is super smooth

You definitely still need AA at 1440p to remove jaggies. Depending on the game and your screen you can still need it at 4k.

2x 290's will handle 1440 fine Dave, I've used 780's at this res under DSR. Min fps of 60 on max settings with x4 msaa. Under mantle your minimums will be better than mine.

Agreed.

My 2 780's handle BF4 max settings no problem on my Swift, so 290's should be a walk in the park:)

Yeah I've got them doing in now on vsr. Does anyone know if the benq is proper 8 bit colour? I'm hoping it'll look noticably better than my old Benq 2420t which is only 6 bit with dithering

yeah I can throw 2xmsaa at it and I'll be honest, AA is still needed at 1440p 100%, but in places when I do that for BF4, the frames do drop to around the 90-100 mark in intense firefights. But at that end of the day, even 90fps on this screen is amazing, no tearing, ghosting nothing, that's still really acceptable in my book. And I meant weird, because I'm used to gaming on a 22" 60hz LCD from about 8 years ago. The colours, the size and above all the incredible fast motion with this screen is taking some getting used to.

Agree 100%

Below is from a bench i ran the other night. Totally stock system.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
55047, 503930, 57, 175, 109.235

Should add that its actually 2560x1600 for me as my monitor is a 16:10 aspect model. Dropping msaa to 2x or none would increase things a bit, or oc the lot. Cards are strangely running an awful lot cooler now so could shunt them up a bit too.
