nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

Does anybody think the actual launch will be on Tuesday or are we a few weeks away?

Also anyone know if Titan X has decent compute like previous Titan's, I saw some sites saying it was removed in the X but from the benchy's it looks like it must have some compute power?

I have a feeling that it will be released on Thursday if review sites do in fact have sample cards. And there was some benches posted in this thread showing the TX has very good DC. No idea on the authenticity of those though and salted as usual.

Thursday not Tuesday?

Yeah the reason I asked about compute is if these are decent in that respect they might retain their value just as well as previous Titan's, would make me more likely to pick one up.

Boom you're going to pick one up regardless :D

As soon as people start posting their orders and dispatch emails you won't be able to resist.

Don't say that mate.. I'm doing my best to try and resist being an early adopter :D. I've got the stopgap card on it's way so I'm not so impulsive at launch :p

I love new tech :D

We never know this card might be a true beast, gaming / compute and decent price.

I can dream..

Nvidia retain good residual value as a whole, even more so the Titan breed. Can't see this being any different regardless of what AMD bring out.

They will probably retain their value, as Apple Mac's version BIOS adds some stupid amount of money apparently.

I sold my 3 for £1350 after more than 2 years worth of fun and that was a right result.

This is true, in my case I like to try the latest stuff then pass it on and try something else. I don't keep anything for to long as that's another way for it to depreciate in value. This way I can stay at the very latest high end and cost effective.

Don't want to lose a ton in the process though and 390X could diminish the value, but... If these are appealing not just to gamers but the compute crowd as well, the cards will still retain a good resale value even if 390X is faster in games. 12GB for compute and Maxwell efficiency is really good.

I want to see some reviews already, hate waiting :p

You did well there mate, I didn't lose to much on my Titan / Titan Black when I passed them on. This time we're so close to AMD's response, got me worried about dropping £800 lol. I guess could always sell Titan X a few days before 390X drops (;

Took £475 for one of mine just a few week back, although it was an EVGA Signature for what it's worth. They've definitely stood the test of time.

I know i wont be jumping the gun and buying on release. Gonna wait at least 2 weeks before making my mind up. I'm 100% going Nvidia though, my trouble with my swift etc kinda put me off AMD for a while.

I will probably go for a 980ti if it appears. May also give the new AMD card a go but I have a swift so it may be a bad move looking at Gregs problems.

Funny you should have mentioned that, i knew someone selling a 970 at the time he was switching :D Almost certain i sold my 780 as well, and i'm currently using my spare 970...so meh, go get your own.
