There are also low volume sellers that get their last 12 months transactions (instead of the last 3 months) looked at when being rated. Previously eBay told you to tell customers to open item not received cases so that they could keep track of them, now they are counted against the low volume sellers as defects. Nice!

I know I am quoting myself but I know it was posted earlier, it seems eBay does not want the smaller sellers anymore. The above quote is a good example.
 
Ebay is a nightmare, massive fees that aren't made up for by the final value and paypal which is the worst, most biased payment system ever.

I have had more success selling on the members market and being paid cash or bacs.
 
Having observed an ex gf having more and more gripes as an ebay seller I got to thinking may be ebay are deliberately trying to force a well marketed and professional rival into business by making life ever harder on their market for both buyers and sellers to stop anti monopoly actions against them in various jurisdictions.
 
We get scammed on this all the time.

Someone buys something, realises it doesn't fit their part as they didn't read the description or wanted to risk trying it, they then send it back as not described. We cough up the costs.

All online retailers get this unfortunately, you take it into account as part of your business model and mark up accordingly.
 
I sell 400 fancy dress outfits a month and every month ill have 10 or so returns due to them telling me the size doesnt fit/isnt the size advertised. Some of these people will even leave me negative feedback which ebay does nothing about even though im only selling 1 outfit in 1 size and the other 390 people were fine with their order.

Now this new rule will end up costing me money, as the profit margins are low and once a item is returned I lose the initial £3 postage cost to post the item which is my profit margin. If I then have to return there money for the return postage i will actually lose £3 on the item even though the vast majority agree that the size is correct.

didnt this rule come in a year ago when this thread was started?

has it acctually affected you much>?
 
So if a buyer returns an item which you have paid the returns postage on and it then gets lost by the courier, who makes the claim for compensation?

Good question. I suppose ebay would as they actually paid out for the return post and then claimed that fee from the seller.

But if the Tracking does not say delivered then no refund is processed.
