nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

I have just finished work and need a shower and walk the Dog but will do some proper digging on this Tier 3 stuff and see what is what when I am done and chillaxed :)

Well that sounds....ridiculous.

I'll tell you whats ridiculous, they spent mountains of money on developers trying to get their mantle crap that no-one wanted into games, no-one took it up so they gave/sold it to Khronos for Vulkan and now Vulkan is being incorporated into DX12. As long as there is a DX11 option for a very long time I'll be happy.

So let me get this straight, you'd rather not utilise the benefits of DX12 closer to the metal API which improves performance and reduces cpu bottlenecks/overheads...right...

I don't understand your logic at all lol.

I didn't think much of Mantle till I actually used it.

BF4 is definitely smoother on my 295x2 than it was my 970 but that could just be down to having more power now.

I do enjoy getting 144+ fps though at 1440p maxed out :)

go and ask Gregster about his opinion on AMD cards and mantle , now he has one.

The fact you mentioned closer to the metal has made a bit of sick come up. Thanks. There's nothing wrong with DX , I've been using it for years upon years with zero issue. This problem was created since EA wanted an API made.

I take it you've never used mantle ?

Yes I have. I saw zero difference in a blind test with DX and Mantle running.

No need for that realy

You'll get over it.

Nah, Lambchop already uses those letters day to day but in a rearranged way..... Mental

reported

I don't understand your logic at all lol.

I really cant explain that any simpler.

Lambchop, are you saying you want nothing to do with Kronos, DX12, etc, because there may be some distant ties in their past that had something to do with AMD and Mantle?

I'm pretty sure LambChop you will have been reported a few times yourself for the original post, it's blatant baiting and seems to have worked.

Right, having looked for more solid info on DX12 tiers and what is what, I am still clueless. Some are saying that MS have lowered the DX12_3 spec because nVidia paid them to do it  Some are saying that GCN has been downgraded but there is no actual facts on GCN being fully supportive of all DX12 components (it should with AMD being in the Xbone) or Maxwell being fully supportive of all DX12 components, so gawd knows.

Some good comments in there but doesn't really answer anything. Worth a read for those interested :)

I hope TX is fully DX12 compliant but if not, that will be a downer.
