Hi Guys

Wanting to get a set of monitor speakers to add to this BUT not sure what I should get as I dont want to buy a pair and blow them up

Cheers

You won't blow them up, the T1 outputs a line level signal so any monitors or active speakers will be fine.

I'm using those same outputs to feed a Schiit Vali headphone amplifier.

also, the volume control has no effect over the line out, so it would probably be best if you looked at speakers with easily accessible controls.

Hi Rids would I be able to connect yamaha hs5 to the Aune T1? As I really like the look of them in white

Cheers Im looking at the Roth oli powa 5

Lol you sold me these brand new in the box about a year or so ago.

They are fantastic speakers but I use them through bluetooth (apt-x). Never used the line in at all.

Very good speakers but if you aren't going to use the blutooth at all then you could probably get better speakers for similar money.

I know LOL Im terrible :( what speakers would you recommend as wont be using bluetooth although as Rids said need a set with volume control

Yes you could use the HS5 though you'd have to sort cables out for the unbalanced inputs.

I can't be of much help with studio monitor recommendations, they are not something I've looked into very deeply.

Well that's where I can come in, isn't OCUK forums great :D

OP what's your budget so I can make suitable recommendations

Hi around £300 :)

That's a nice budget, I'd be looking at the Adam F5 for sure great bit of kit for the money. I haven't hard the Yamaha HS5 so can't comment or compare but I heard they are light in the bass department. The best way to find out which monitors are best is to audition them if possible in a nearby shop.

Also what type of music will you be listening too?

If bass is a priority then Samson Resolv RXA6, ESI Aktiv 08 or M-Audio BX8 Carbon would all provide that extra oomph in the low-end department.

I know Yamaha, Adam, Samson and M-Audio also sell subwoofers so it isn't a problem anyway if you go with HS5 for example as you can expand in future if necessary.

As for your comment about blowing them up rids57 already answered that, they are already amplified. Beware though studio monitors are meant to go loud so you can test tracks properly, I doubt you will be playing them at full volume unless you want to go deaf!

sorry forgot about this thread and still not got speakers :(
, Will the wharfdale diamond 9s work with the T1? as they are a great price

Hi guys hopefully got a pair of Roth OLi POWA 5 coming tomorrow and was wondering what audio out cables you would recommend or just use the ones supplied? Cheers

Just see what comes with them and if the RCA cables are chunky enough then use them.

Doesn't the Roth Oli have a built in DAC with optical inputs though? Puzzling choice of speaker considering you have a DAC already.

Hi Rids it was a steal at £99 brand new for the Mk2 and I can control the volume via a remote and connect my other pc up to it and the tv

So you connect one PC to the T1 and the T1 through the RCA cables to the Olis and another PC and TV via the opticals? How do you select inputs?
