The main focus of the cooler is the die, all the heatsink surface area is for dissipating heat from the die. The ram gets less direct cooling (shared pcb plate in the Titan cooler) or as in non-blower types heated air off the heatsink. Also sits on the pcb as opposed to the die on the package, which probably explains the thermal imaging pic.

I said I wasn't going to wc again but these need water really, so would be silly not to. Shame the old Titan blocks don't fit, as I have 2 brand new spare Titan water blocks with the water cooled backplates

To us they would just be paperweights with no value now, we lose a small fortune on last gen GPU blocks if we've not cleared all the stock.

HardOCP is talking about nvidia selling them directly to customers and will then start distributing via resellers at a later date. I take it this is inaccurate or specific to the US?
