I'm surprised that those suggesting Brand might take over from Clarkson are forgetting the problems he caused the BBC when with Ross, I doubt that the BBC would risk him replacing Clarkson.

The difference being..

a) FGM is already illegal in this country and condemned by our government. The backward cultures that still practice it aren't the types to listen to petitions or popular opinion so completely futile. Clarkson being reinstated is an achievable goal and falls to a few people to decide

b) There's no reason a woman would have heard or known about the petition you mentioned. Nearly all Top Gears viewers would be aware about the 're-instate Clarkson' unless they avoided all forms of news last week. Even then i think they would have known something was up when they found themselves watching a Red Arrows documentary at the weekend.

I think MGM is nearly as bad there are important hormone excretion points and receptors in the foreskin, also the sudden attack and pain the infant experiences can be psychologically traumatic.

I didn't sign the petition, despite approving of Clarky. It seems quite likely to me that many people who signed don't even watch Top Gear. In short, petitions are not that important in the grand scheme of things. That said, gettign 900k signatures is quite the achievement in itself.

I reckon Suzi Perry would be an ok presenter on new TG, obviously not lead presenter. It'll never be the same again regardless of what happens unless they keep JC et al.
