*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

My work phone is the Z10. It's terrible.

don't want to derail this thread by discussing z10 but I'm not sure why you say that. Our office use about 450 Z10's and I have a Z10 personal phone as well and I think there's probably 7 or 8 people in the office who've got issues with it. The rest love it.

Anyway that's beside the point as I said.

Please remind me what the real function on a phone is again?

I don't disagree with you, there is a lot of functionality in the phones these days, if you can even call them 'phones' anymore as they seem to offer much more than that.

I think what I was trying to say was, it's not like they're 're-inventing' the wheel each time. The clock function on the S4 I suspect is exactly the same as the clock function will be on the S6 edge, as well calling, messaging etc.

I don't know - I guess I'm just not seeing why with each new release it's like a standard expectation that the manufacturers have 'we price the phone at £500+'. I'm aware I'm picking on phone manufacturers right now, to be fair, it's broadly the same with every industry. There's an 'accepted' base price and new releases just sort of come out about there - but then you think, well surely there's economies of scale here, lower costs of production, re-use of previous intellectual property etc

i'm really surprised at Samsung. They've provided innovation and quality and I understand the premium you have to pay to get that. But £760+ for a 64Gb or even £700 for a 32Gb if you can get your hands on one is just ...RIDICULOUS.

Booked a 32Gb off amazon.de and wondering just one thing?....

what delivery company will these guys use?

Will there be any noticeable difference in the german ROM once the language is set to English UK?

I'm guessing 4G will still work in the UK?

64gb gold edge, upgrade on O2, 5GB data ,£259 up front, £38ppm

at .de 64gb gold is for around £670.
assuming tariff only is £20, then with upfront cost, it would be only around £20 more in 2 years.

at the moment am paying around £33 for 2gb of data with note2...

need to have a think about it...

Screw it, ordered the Note 4 at no extra cost. If the GS6/N5/Z4 turn out to be wonder phones, I can just sell my Note 4 and brand new GS4 (replacement) to pay for the new handset.

So Vodafone 64gb S6 unlimited call/texts 4gb data £48.50 with £49 upfront

And .... 64gb S6 EDGE same deal....Sense???

20% nhs off makes it £38.8/month

Both come with free wireless charger and case.

Interestingly the case is not compatible with the gold version?

Alternatively I could go for the £34.8 for the S6 32gb but with that price difference doesn't seem worth it. Where's the 32gb Edge??

Decisions decisions

Should all be fine - Germany normally get the updates quicker anyway.

You can always flash the UK ROM without voiding warranty.

Was going to wait but I got a note 4 instead. £37/month on 3, unlimited data and handset was a tenner :)
