Booking hotels business

So next week, i'm booking hotels for Amsterdam, which we'll be going to in July. But if you book togther, it comes out cheaper, its me and 2 others.
But when I select to book together, I have to book myself a double room aswell apparently along with their double room.

Is there way I can book myself a single, and them a double, together for the discount?

Also are hotels always strict? Ive never booked before..so wondering if people can come back upstairs with you?

is it a major hotel? either book it directly with them on the phone or through a site like hotels.com

Idk, its hotels in central dam, but thing is the deals are online, not sure about the phone

Call them and ask. They will prob be better off by offering you the same deal directly.
