*** Official Battlefield: Hardline Thread ***

good honest review for anybody still thinking about buying

I agree with most things in the video, especially that the cops and robbers theme could have been taken a lot further than it currently has. Hopefully with updates / dlc this might happen. The only thing I disagree with is about mixed arms. Battlefield moving to an infantry only FPS is not necessarily a bad thing. In the FPS genre being infantry only isn't something new but it is new for BF. Personally, I am enjoying being able to run around a map without the worrying of being blown away by a tank/plane/helicopter. Where hardline has missed it IMO is not commiting to a decision - either go full mixed arms or full infantry.

Anyone found a easy/simple way for 2 squads to join together on same server and team? In the menu you can only have 5 people in your squad launch but some nights we have almost 10 which means 2 squads and sometimes we don't join same team/side or isn't enough room in the server.

There's never been a way to get that many people in a server at once on the same side.

Its just too many.

How many servers have that much of an imbalance that you can put 10 players all on one team at once without wrecking the balance ?

You could always get two squad leaders to join a server and then have 4 for each join the seperate squads. You might not necessarily team up during the first round but if enough people leave over time you will.

We used to regularly have 8 players on bf4, as Joe said just get someone to join a server then all join through battlelog. You need to have them on your friends list for this method though.

The K10 is mental. 1200rpm with 34 damage a bullet within 10m. If you are unlucky enough to bump into someone at close range with one it's game over.

A lot of complaining, I've had a blast with this so far with mates. If people don't feel it's worth the money or just not worth it at all then don't get it. Plenty of people on there that do.

Is there much of an upgrade, no, not really but is there ever with games like bf and cod. I think the game modes are fun, worth my £35 in my opinion.

I agree it was a mess on release but its not so bad now, then if we look at things like hit reg/net code ect.. Nothing has been "good" since counter strike 1.6.

Comparing to counter strike is a little unfair, BF doesnt use the hit box system like CS which has massive boxes for the area you are hitting, it's also much smaller maps, and player count, and for most of the game you don't even need to aim, just look in the general direction and shoot.

Dice are changing thing's in the CTE by adding a refesh rate that matches you FPS, so if it's running at 60fps so is the game's tick rate, the server still updates at 30, but it's said that bullet registration is much quicker and more noticeable.

Nothing has ever been as simple as CS 1.6 was.

People put up with how basic it was because its fan base largely consisted of those that had been brought up on CS when it was a free mod for halflife.

You would find people willing to spend money on a shooter as simple as CS was, but not enough to get big sales. Thus most companies won't bother making it.

There was so much hatred when their was talk of a paid version of CS being released once CS became part of Valve. So much hate, largely due to the fact the community has always viewed it as a free mod made by enthusiasts in their spare time (whcih the betas were but wasn't true by the time we got to 1.6) Consequently peoples expectations were lowered.

Been playing Heist this morning and its okay so far, I'm going to get the single player done in my week off and try and get the platinum trophy. It's not gripping me like BF4 if I'm honest but maybe I need to give it more time. Might end up trading in towards Bloodborne.

What game modes do people play? I've only played blood money and small conquest so far. I'm enjoying it but I've found it still has some bugs from bf4 such as when people die on stairs you can't revive them and the feeling of dying in one bullet.
