Will these ever come out with a good aftermarket cooler as according to reports the cooler on these has to ramp up the fan to higher than my Vapor-X 290 to keep temps down and at a higher temp than the Vapor. If I ever was to go Nvidia again it would have to be with a good aftermarket cooler.

Long and short is more than likely no. The titan series has traditionally been reference only. The iChill inno3d appears to be the exception but is not allowed to be sold in europe.

Thought as much. Will have to wait until 390x 8gb or till Amd force Nvidia to bring the gtx version of this with a good after market cooler. Probably better giving Amd the money if they release a card with Titan-X performance with a water cooler for much less as they would deserve it more.

Enjoy them guys and thanks for selling your old titans dirt cheap :)

You are so last year :D

Only joking and you are actually so last 2 years :D Still great cards mind and not many 290Xs have beaten mine in the bench threads

Hi

Would it be worth buying one of these to replace a GTX690 when running a I7 920 at 3.4ghz , 1440p or would I be better of throwing money at new CPU, motherboard and RAM?

I was thinking I could get some money back for the 690 while its still worth something.

Shouldn't be much of a problem with one Titan X. If your thinking of getting 2 you might want to upgrade to a new CPU and mobo.

I have SLI GTX680s (same as the GTX690) and that 2GB VRAM is crippling for 1440p.

Really?

Personally I'd focus on the rest of the system since the 690 is still a very capable card. However if you're struggling at 1440p go for it.

This is coming from a former 980 sli owner who is moving to a titan x.

Yea absolutely, gaming is far more GPU limited than CPU limited.

Grab Titan X sell GTX 690, than later move onto something like Skylake / Cannonlake, there's no point buying into Haswell atm with Skylake so close. Once you're on that new chipset your good with Skylake through Cannonlake, why buy into Haswell so late.. New GPU, then later new CPU / Mobo etc..

Well, I would go look at an auction site and get another 690 mega cheap.
if your strapped for cash.

for your interest my 690 is running 4k med settings 60 fps in eso fifa15 etc.

but if you have the cash splash !!!
