US: The Walking Dead Season 5 (contains spoilers)

I think its another even worse group that Daryl is tracking,I reckon they will bring newcomers into the camp that turn out to be psychos

I have more of an attachment to the zombies now than I do for the characters (zombie mad is the only reason I watch). They need to break up the doom and gloom with some proper character development...it's wooden as hell.

Although the ending last week was brilliant. There's not enough gore!!

I hope the Wolves inject some sadistic charisma into the show.

No, not surprised tbh :D I should've given up hope of trying to figure out which goldilocks zone people want this show to occupy a while back.

While Rick has certainly lost his ****, he does have a point and the experiences to justify it.
As you say, aside from the odd horde and those pesky ninja zombies that keep managing to sneak up on people, it's the live ones that are the real problem now.

From my perspective, it's always been the people that have been the issue, and with the scenario it's the ruthless crazy people who tend to live the longest, who then become eve more crazy because they aren't beholden to anyone. That's always been the plot device for the show for me.

Rick really has gone a bit cray cray. He's on point in what he's trying to do, but he isn't going about it the right way because the people of Alexandria are essentially living in Pretend Land, which means they are less likely to go along with what he wants to do, the way he wants to do it.

He really did need punching out, though. Regardless of how valid his words are, waving a gun around, covered in blood after trying to kill someone isn't going to get many people on side, especially not people who are as deluded (or maybe naive?) as the Alexandrians.

Michone seems to be one of the only people that can really see what's going on with both sides/groups who is actually taking action, and how to approach it. Obviously there are others who can see what's what, but they're not the sort of people that take action. The people of Alexandria need to be delicately manipulated in to compliance, Rick has just been trying to bluntly force them in to doing the things they need to do for survival which will naturally include telling them they need to do the sort of things that they just won't accept.

What I find curious is the distinct lack of the priest considering his previous words. I think there's a lot more to his absence than him simply keeping away from the main group considering his words in the last episode.

You don't think there's been any real character development?

There has been character development, its just been a bit wooden. Maybe its cos I'm watching it as they come out rather than watching the whole series on one or two sittings. Bit like watching a soap with zombies, sometimes, for me... But yeah, I seemly don't get it

I prefer Michone when she's wielding her sword ;) I'm hoping we see a return of it in the finale.. some necks will probably need chopping

spot on I feel.

Just caught up on the last two episodes, seems the utopia is a town full of cowards! Was sad to see Noah go just as they were starting to develop his character - skilled shooter, interest in a future :(

Agreed, whats the point of having that whole conversation with the architect only to get dissembowled!

Well, I'm sure with regards to the story, he wasn't quite aware of the fact that he was going to be eaten very shortly.

However, the point is that they did that to bring the viewers closer to the character, and possibly envisage his future development. I think that's why his death was so exaggerated and gruesome, to highly that point.

I presume Zombies can't swim, so why don't the group just move out to an Island? Clear any zombies there and live happily ever after? They are in Washington now, so just head North towards Martha's Vineyard and live out the rest of their lives in peace.

I think Gabriel will open up the gates or something stupid and die. That or a biker gang invades the compound, that big fence is also a big sign also for anyone in viewing distance to come calling

Rick not knowing basic restraining technique is pretty poor, he never had to deal with a drunk guy before without killing him.

An island idea makes far too much sense and also consider there just wouldnt be this many dead people, the population density of usa is pretty low. They'd get very little trouble in quite a few places, disengage your brain is obviously best also #leaveglenalone :(
