Thinking of heading to France for the easter weekend but don't know where to go. To keep it simple, so we dont have to do too much driving, we we're considering staying in Calais or Dunkirk.

Not sure what we're going to do either, but I'm sure we could find somewhere.

Have you stayed in either places? Can you recommend accommodation or sights?

I would say go a bit further than Calais because it's not that nice and there are much nicer places if you drive a little further. Couldn't give you specifics though as it's a while since I visited.

i went to la coupole a few years ago and left a bit underwhelmed, next time were off to the todt battery, ive a bit more interest in that as it was in a map of a game i used to play (rtcw:ET) :)
aim to arrive at the train/ferry a bit early as new outgoing boarder checks will make things a bit of a slower process, although i think theyve delayed the start of that from the 1st of april to the 8th

Go to Dunkirk and drive to Bruges (only an hour), sample many, many beers.

Or go to Lille. No idea what it's like there though.
