I will be building this out in quite some detail, so please come back often to see updates. If you would like something specific resolutions/settings/games with whatever cards I have available please ask.
This thread is to help people make an informed decision on how to move on with upgrading/sidegrading etc.

PC Specs
CPU: i7 3930K
Mobo: P9X79 Deluxe
RAM: Kingston Hyper-X 16GB 1600mhz
Monitor: 4K Asus PB287Q
PSU: Corsair AX1200
GPUs:
I currently don't have the GTX970s (RMAed/Refunded) but I have quite a few games already covered on my website (HardwarePal).
Other than the GTX970s I still have the rest of the GPUs, so it will be easier to test on specifics you guys want.
First impressions:
The card is relatively long but looks pretty cool with the lit up green Geforce GTX logo on the side.
At first the idle temps freaked me out a little (37-45c) with an ambient of 20.9c, but after running the card through a few loops of 3DMark and looking at the fan speeds and temps my concerns were resolved.
Note: I didn't get into much hassle of fixing my case fan speed (was on silent mode) and also have the case lying down on it's side.
I think Nvidia should have gone a bit more aggressive on the fan profiles but the card is very quite on stock and some people might actually prefer it that way.
The stock boost is 1075Mhz but my card runs all the way up to 1189Mhz which is impressive. I created a 1:1 fan profile (30%-30c , 40%-40c etc) so I can run a few overclocks and I was able to get a stable 1453/7828Mhz which is amazing on a stock bios and a reference air cooler.
Firestrike Extreme Bench:
