Anyone got any good ideas for healthy breakfasts and lunches?

So over the past few years I've lost quite a bit of weight through diet and exercise, 6 stone (84lbs) to be exact.

The thing is I want to lose another stone but I'm just so sick of the meals I normally eat when dieting that it's making it really hard. My main meal at the end of the day is ok, but breakfast and lunches are super boring. I've watched some YouTube videos on meal ideas but half of them use ingredients barley any average person has or the prep time is out of this world.

So does anyone have any suggestions that might make my life a little bit easier? I'm not a fussy eater at all.

Thanks!

Good work on the weight loss.

Have you considered using something like MyFitnessPal and planning your food intake around that? Tracking macros and kcal will help enable you to vary your diet a lot more.

What's your diet currently look like? Having a starting point will help people suggest things.

Finally, it could be worth posting in the Sports Arena as there are lots of knowledgeable people in there when it comes to nutrition.

Roast some chicken thighs
Buy some frozen veg
Coconut yogurt
Salmon
Eggs what ever way you like them
Steak
Bacon
More veg
Spinach

Breakfast - porridge (not the ready made stuff).

My wife is super busy and it takes her 1 minute to chuck the stuff in a pan and on the hob, leave it do it's thing (sorry purists out there!) and by the time she's done her hair or whatever women do after they look ready, it's finished.

I used to make porridge at work with microwave. Then you can just add whatever to it if you wish - fruit, berries, nuts, cinnamon etc.

Breakfast:
Porridge, milk and 60s seconds in the microwave. I add some pecan nuts and maple syrop
Smoothies: banana, milk, yogurt, frozen mixed berries, porridge oat, peantnut butter and chia seeds
egg+banana pancakes; blend the 2 together and fry in lightly buttered non-stick pan. Optionally can add more porridge oats, chia seeds, cinaamon and baking powder

Eggs cooked anyway you want.

Yogurt with a load of fruit and granola.

Lunch grilled/BBQd chicken thighs/breast, steak homemade burgers (80-20 makes the tastiest burgers but 90-10 works OK).

Salads made with a load of different vegetables (carrots, turnips, radishes, cauliflower, sweetcorn, celery, cucumber, tomatoes, etc.), spinach as the main leafy part, and add some protien from grilled chicken, crispy bacon, cheese. Also nuts and seeds help tremendously with taste, texture, protein and making a filling salad - pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame etc.

A plain lettuce salad is for rabbits - add plenty of exciting vegetables/nuts/meat/cheese to fill you up and add protein.

Winter is soon over but soups are an amazing way to eat a lot of vegetables, have lower calorific intake, source vitamins and feel satisfied.
Even on a hot day you can have a great soup - gazpacho.

Really, you can eat pretty much anything but as French tart points out, it can be useful to measure the calories rather than worrying about what you eat, just how much. Still, I tend to avoid things like a giant bowl of pasta for lunch because it is a lot of fairly empty calories and likely you will feel hungry before dinner. That doesn't make it bad per se, e.g. if you go for a big run in the afternoon then carb loading is very good and will help prevent you hitting the wall like I did yesterday after eating only a small salad. After 6 miles I just had super low blood sugar and it was horrible trying to run home.

I dropped down from 70kg to 64kg the biggest change I made was I started eating breakfast

I bought a few different types of granola, this one I have most mornings:

to this I add fat free yogurt it a slow releasing carb so it keeps me full until lunch time so I don't feel the need to snack on anything. If I do need to snack I have some baby carrots.

Posting what you eat now or normally eat would probably help give an idea of the variety people should be aiming for.

There are a lot of posts in this area about healthy breakfasts and lunches as well.

Any reason you chose fat free yoghurt?
