Lmao, you're hilarious.

I seriously doubt a producer of ten years on the show is directly responsible for the lack of Clarkson's particular choice of meal.

In ten years you would think he would know better. Even less excuse not to know and foresee his charges needs better. More reason to discipline him.

Clarkson should have hit him harder eh? Y'know because his charges needs were not met and he needed to be disciplined.

Castiel do you think producer means runner or something? You don't replace a producer of a very successful show over the lack of a steak.

Not really. They simply aren't a bunch of pansies who need to go to A&E over a fat lip. They are capable of standing up for themselves and accepting that sometimes stress, tiredness, frustration and difficult long hours sometimes means tempers are lost and punches get thrown. They are big enough men to defend themselves and accept apologies when they come also.

I don't like to agree with Castiel but me & him are a similar age and came through a similar work related lifestyle.
I was an Apprentice in 1974 but was sent to the main factory in 1976 and some of the rituals we had to endure would probably put the bullies into Prison nowadays.
I worked on factories for 33 years in total, saw 100s of fights but never once saw anybody sacked because we weren't pansies and it was settled over a pint. When a fight broke out the Managers/Team Leaders would look the other way until the workers sorted it.
The best fight I had was ending up with a black eye, bloodied nose and my t-shirt completely ripped off but my workmate bought me a new one and we continued to be mates. I also accepted it wasn't a one-sided argument but I came worse off.
It's a sign of the times that people will complain and make claims for anything and it's quite sickening how we got to this point.

AFAIK, the Producer was obviously a mate of Clarkson's for the last 10 years and also didn't complain either so good on him.

Times change. It really is as simple as that.

Violence at work is not acceptable.

Right, except none of that is relevant at all in the BBC which isn't a factory, in 2015 which isn't the 1970s, and I'm going to assume the company you worked for didn't have a permanent target painted on its back, attracting flack from all parts of the political spectrum and after Savile etc. needs to be whiter-than-white.

People witnessed Clarkson hitting a producer, if you really think he could have had his contract renewed after that you are deluded.

I know people have said they aren't trying to justify Clarkson's outburst, but a lot of posts sound awfully similar to that.
