Who is responsible for the RMA, the retailer (competitor) or the manufacturer?

The card is just under two years old.

When I had to RMA a motherboard I sent it to ocuk who then sent it to MSI. This was about 18 months after purchase.

don't bother emailing MSI they are useless in my eperience, try and get the reseller to sort it

Well, to their credit, they responded to my ticket in under 60 minutes. They were able to give me the RMA info 15 minutes after I responded to the first email. We'll see how the rest goes!

It was about a month. I think they may have forgotten as after 3 weeks I prodded OCUK for an update who in turn prodded MSI and everything sprung to action and I had a replacement board in a couple of days.

My advice would be to keep asking for status updates throughout the process.
 
I have rma'd 2 msi cards now and both were dealt with through ocuk who will chase it up for you if you ask them too :) got 1 card back the 1st time within a month and a refund for the 2nd time I sent one back :)
