High demand for Titan X exceed supply

I'd care. For that money I'd want nice pretty LEDs , nice fancy backplate and all presented in a sexy box. Nvidea really know how to rip you off. This is probably why I've never had an iPhone either.

hahahahahaha Iphone. Oh dear lord where do I even so much as begin?

Heavy. Slow. Takes all day to charge, easily drained in an hour. I had the Iphone 4 and the battery life was hilarious. If I stick to communications only the battery on my Blackberry lasted me about five days. Go heavy and it lasted about a day, but I could kill my Iphone in less than two hours playing games on it.

I thought it would get better with the Iphone 5. Nope. My step daughter has one and whenever she's here it's *always* charging.

But yes I agree. Where is the sexy box?

Honestly at £930 I expect it to be presented as such. My Blackberry Passport cost me a whopping £360 and it came in a drop dead gorgeous black box that's really nicely made. Yeah yeah yeah only a box, I would want it and I would keep it.

Nvidia are being paid for a special product. It has a special name yet it's built no better than a £200 card and offers nothing more than a £200 card.

And please, please please please don't try to convince me that the money all went on performance because at £930 I would expect it to perform 4x better than a Radeon 290 because it costs 4x as much.

And TBH? that £215 Radeon is the XFX one which IMO is far better looking than the Titan X. Had they gone all black with some white LEDs and white light up logo? then I would still be here defending it.

I'm still not going to bash on at people who bought it. It's their money and none of my business, but personally I feel completely and totally let down by it.

There, I said it.

Lol right on brother :D

your right theres no real figures showing how many titan X's have sold.. but I think they will always release very few at launch to create demand.. its all business.. and all they want is our lovely money :D

I suspect.. my opinion.. under 150 titan X sold since release in UK

It honestly won't be that many. It may sound like it because every one who bought one will be here bragging about it, but they make for a very small audience.

How many people do you think bought say a Radeon 290 and then came on here bragging about it?

That would be none.

I *almost* thought I had done a bad thing buying a third Titan black for £390 but tbh I'm elated with it. I'd already paid the Titan premium before when I bought my two Blacks.

Could easily sell all three and buy a Titan X but it's no better than my Blacks in SLI and I would probably need to sell all three to buy one TX.

Greg may have seen 10gb usage but I've proven before that the more you have the more you can use. For example if I run the Kombustor benchmark I can use all 6gb of mine.

The 6gb card is going to be the sweet spot. Well, if it ever materialises.

That's all down to AMD now.

I think I'm going to skip this gen completely. I'm just building a wee ITX rig with a Titan Black in it to hook up to the TV so I will probably run it @ 1080p 120hz for the jollies.

Will wait to see what the next gen brings. Hopefully a single card worthy of replacing my two Titan Blacks.

ROFL, people really believe <150 have sold in the UK.

Well it ain't gonna be millions is it?

A company who are trying to invent other things to make money with obviously don't think the GPU market is enough to keep them afloat.

This stuff is deep, man. Far deeper than people realise. They upset Intel so Intel gave them the Spanish Archer on making boards with Intel sockets, it just goes on.

Titan X will not keep them in business. Take a look at the "Are you buying Titan X" poll and have a look how many people answered no.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Personally I feel if they'd released it at £450 they could and would have sold it to practically every one. By skinning the rich they will only sell to the rich, and there are far more people out there that are "Other than rich".

It's just willy waving. Not exactly going to make people buy shield or that stupid shield brick they want me to put under my TV.

That's where they need to be. HP died out, Compaq died out, Dell nearly died out. All because they could not find an entry into the portable/tablet market.

And Nvidia will die out too unless they come up with something quick. Those funds they have can only support so many failures.

And AMD? pah ! they're not even trying.

Apple/Ferrari style Faux scarcity at its finest.

Half a million TX sitting in a warehouse in Essex ready for the start of FY Q2 next week.

Tongue in cheek but you get my drift.

IMHO

I think what matters here is great performance, bareable heat output and good software/driver support.

I would buy a GPU even though it literally looked like a brick, I could care less aslong as it runs my resolution and is bareable temp wise. Ofcourse some people do prefer "nice looking" GPUs that go with their setups and such but in all honesty if I'm running out of grunt or VRAM I get turned off and I don't spend 2-3 hours a day fapping over my "BAWS looking setup", I use and game on my PC!

12GB is overkill for 1440p and running one card, but moving into the 4K realm is different (2+ cards) and I would prefer to have "ease of mind" than grab a say GTX980Ti in SLI with 6GB even though half the price.

A person running 4K knows very well (if informed) that he will have to be keeping up to cutting edge. With the Titan X, all you need is two (I'm getting a second btw) as this gen consoles lifespan will be a good 4 years.

I have spent a tad bit over 3K from 2011-2015 to keep up and I was never satisfied either grunt wise, VRAM wise or smoothness wise. With the Titan X I'm really happy even with one ATM.

To each his own ofcourse.

Didn't Greg's video review of his TitanX show it using 10GB+ in one of the games he tested ?

it's ok for me because i'm only at 1080p, but if you're running at 4K the TX wont last long, because it'll deffo be outclassed next year by these new high bandwidth cards.

Greg's original cards lasted a long time, but i dont think this TX will.... because it looks as if it'll struggle against the 390X............let alone the 400X next year

As long as it plays your resolution well it doesn't matter if anything is 10x faster plain and simple.

Stupid logic imo. 4K needs two to be able to "last" anyway.

what will annoy the Nvidia fans is to see a much cheaper TX on sale only 2 months later..

the 12gb RAM is daft, because the TX will run out of grunt well before it needs the full 12gb..

the new TX is only 6gb.............. just as well, because if it was 8gb this would cause a flipping riot, it would be as bad as the 970 fiasco.. Nvidia would have two TX cards at 4K, except one of them will be 300 quid cheaper than the other :D

Yer, I remember all of us Titan owners getting mad when they released the 780 a couple of months after the Titan launched. Man we we all mad...

I bring up the age old but can it run Crysis?

TX can not run Crysis 3 @ 4k so it's still not good enough.

Well you seemed to be agreeing with that guys post you replied to where he suggested under 150 have sold.

Did I? Maybe from OCUK.

Maybe Gibbo can give us an honest figure.

So far I've seen about ooo, twenty to twenty five people showing their cards. And I assume people with them will show them because that's part of the experience isn't it? rubbing other, less fortunate people's noses in it.
