I'm trying to organise a last minute Stag night for my brother. He doesn't drink so won't be your usual stag do, hence only looking at doing one day/night.

As he's a bit of a racing nut I thought we might do off road buggy racing near Birmingham followed by Drinks/Food. I was considering booking somewhere in central Birmingham however as we probably won't be going out to get blind drunk I'm beginning to think about somewhere quieter than Birmingham.

So, are there any town's around the place with good food and local pubs near by?

p.s. Location is Birmingham due to activity and half the people coming from the North, half from London.

Pasta Di Piazza was really nice. Authentic Italian food in a place with great atmosphere and nice big tables for big parties. It's also in a zone surrounded by nice bars, so should some people want to drink, but not anywhere rowdy like the very centre, then it's ideal. It's also very close to a few hotels.

St Pauls Sq is a lovely area there's also Andersons bar and grill down there which serves the best steak I've ever eaten!
Joules Hollands Jazz bar is around there as well and is supposed to be a nice chilled slightly classier venue although the name escapes me right now.

That's it yeah St Pauls (couldn't remember the area). All the bars and restaurants round there are nice it's a pleasant area. Is the jools Holland bar called the Jam Bar?

I went to a comedy night in Birmingham last weekend, bar initially was absolutely full of Hen Dos... then we realised this was on:

...at the same time in a different room.

Comedy night is here:

might be an idea as if the stag doesn't drink he can still sit down and enjoy the show, was pretty decent last weekend anyway - sit him down in the front row and maybe give the compere a heads up about the stag's presence during one of the breaks....

after the comedy night the place turns into a normal nightclub albeit one full of drunk women who've just spent the past couple of hours getting a bit excited watching naked men

Comedy nights are good. Went to one in Liverpool a few years back, sit down meal beforehand then a few hours of comedy.

Jam House is pretty swish, good place to avoid ****ed up yobs but it isn't exactly cheap...

I recommend St. Paul's square though, much quieter than Broad Street etc.

Agreed, abit pricey but you aviod all the weekend yobs and have a better class of people who enjoy an actually night out.

I came into this thread expecting to see a photo of an animal which was spotted near Birmingham. Would've made my day, that.

Instead people are asking about how to have fun.

I am disappoint.
