Better alternative to top spec Mondeo estate?

Just received a promotion at work which means I am now forced to give up my van and take a company car or allowance.

The list is pretty good, ranges all the way from fiestas and minis through to A7s and X5s.

I'm currently thinking of a top spec Mondeo estate (Titanium with X pack) with all the necessary gadgets. RRP is in the region of 35k.

Anything comparable / better competitors out there for the money?

Thanks

All kinds of things, it's a vast list, done through a leasing company, you just get login details then away you go. If you can think of it and it's a sensible car then it's likely on there. Seems like the upper limit of the defined list is an RRP of £55k. Obviously the higher you go the more I pay in BIK.

Plus I can also take cash allowance to find a car myself. Just needs to be sensible / business orientated. Company pays for insurance if I choose this option btw.

thanks

Assuming you are looking for a good sized Estate looking a more premium marque could get you into a more expensive car for similar payments. The lease cost has to take into account depreciation and a £35k Mondeo will depreciate like a stone. Something like a 5 series estate could have a higher RRP but similar leasing costs as it will depreciate far less.

I'd take a look at the 520d - probably a little pricer but the BIK is very reasonable and they are excellent cars. The engine isn't ideal but if you look at anything 6 cylinder it will really push up your BIK! So 4cyl diesel is probably your only option, and the 520d is probably one of the best options for that IMO.

Edit - a 520d M Sport auto is almost exactly £35k!

Hi all

In the end I went for a 2015 facelift Mazda 6 Tourer Sport Nav with safety pack. Should collect car in approx 3 weeks.

A lot cheaper than Mondeo, similar spec, arguably better looking and was available on 0% finance. Reviews tend to place it higher than the Mondeo too.

Just ordered a 2.0 VW Passat Estate SE company car...total price was £28k with a few extras.

Good economy, big boot, looks pretty stylish imo, great build quality - nearly on par with BMC/Merc/Audi....ticked all the right boxes for me.
