Regarding Sony drops PS TV price to £44.99

Got my PS TV yesterday. It came with download code for 3 free games, so that's added bonus (I might have a play around with Worms).

I only just order my Dualshock 4 controller...hope it will arrive before Good Friday.

I guess probably at the end of the day, if there are games on VITA that you love enough and is compatible with PS TV, £40~ is little to pay for playing on the big screen (granted it's not 1080p, but then again neither is PS3). I got 3 games on VITA at the moment (Toukiden, Dragon Crown and Gundam Breaker 1), and they are compatible with PS TV...so it's a bit of no-brainer for me. Might get some anime VITA games in the future.

Was tempted by one of these, but at under £40... There's no much to lose!
Ordered.

There's a few Vita games I'd like to play on the TV.
Still hugely disheartened that Phantasy Star 2 never got an English translation. Would love to have that on the Vita.

I have a large library of vita games and no vita since subbing to PS+ since the service opened. At this price, the vita tv is tempting just to be able to explore all the vita games on my account. I have a spare PS3 pad already but the big cost comes in the vita storage cards since I doubt the built in 1gb will hold all that much.

Yeah, that's the killer. Should have had an SD card slot.

I've got a spare 4gb card I'm planning to use, but you're probably wanting at least a 16gb... They certainly charge for them. :(

Well yes at under 40 quid its a nice bit of kit... Until you look into it further and find out that the amount of Vita games that will play is actually pretty small.

Here is a complete list: As you can see most big games for the Vita do not work with the Playstation TV.

Ninja Gaiden Games.. Nope
Uncharted Golden Abyss.. Nope
Unit 13... Nope
Super Stardust Delta... Nope
Street Fighter X Tekken... Nope
Everybodys Golf... Nope
Escape Plan... Nope
Black Ops 2 Classified... Nope

Terrible really..

Yeah the compatibility issues for Vita games is maddening - wish I understood why it was such a pain especially when sometimes it seems to depend on the region the game is from.

I was thrilled for the PS TV when it first was announced especially because I dont have a Vita (just no real need for it) while Ive got a ton of Vita games via PS+ (some really good ones) I wouldnt mind playing so seemed a perfect purchase.

Sony really just ****ed up, no excuse really...

ps3ud0

I would never have expected Uncharted to work, due to it using the touchscreen/pad, and some other bits.
I'll reserve judgement until I've seen what games, out of my library, work.
It looks like Persona 4 will, so that's good times. :)

I use mine purely for PS4 remote play, sure the downgrade to 720p is a little sad considering the price of the thing but as a means to get the PS4 available in a 2nd room it's not too bad at all.

1. I have PS4 in living room, connected to Internet via switch
2. PC in my sleeping room, where i want to play PS4 games, with
a. buying 27'' IPS/VA monitor with HDMI with speakers.
3. How do i connect PS4-PSTV...i believe wifi won't be good enough, right?
Seems i can't connect it wired, right?

tbh i'd rather unplug my ps4 and carry it to another room than put up with 720p and lag. 5 minutes hassle for a better all round experience.

One thing I noticed is people talking about "internet speed", despite it's usually more to do with the case of the bog standard router and wireless adapter not being fast enough.

With that said, decent performance wireless adapter and router do cost quite a bit, so the cheapest realistic option is probably a pair of high speed powerline adapters plus ethernet cables.
