As per title are there any options out there for a lightweight 17 inch laptop with a 4K screen? Having difficulty finding many.
Metal chassis is preferable as well.

It doesn't need to be a beast but some mid range gaming would be great.
I think only MSI are going to have something suitable, their website it atrocious at filtering results to compare their vast range though!

Any ideas?

At the moment you will struggle to find 17.3" and 4K screen from any manufacturer. 15.6" no problem

That's what I don't understand, if there are 15.6 4K screens how can there not be any for 17, should be the other way round I would have thought! I can see individual pixels on 1080p 15.6", I will definitely need higher resolution on 17. Would be great for looking at dslr photos too.

The closest I can think of is the 14" prosumer flagship, Fujitsu U904 that I just bought.

But it's not that near 4K, it's a 1800p.

Another option would be Dell XPS 13, but I don't think there's a 17" ultrabook with a 4K monitor yet??

XPS 13 is 3200x1800 too and only has intel HD graphics.

Gaming on 4K is not viable for laptops anyway just stick to 1080P.

Not interested in gaming at 4K. Useful for photo editing though.

A hi-res screen is beautiful though, for desktop use, especially at 17" you'd want something over 1080P.

Definitely, I don't think 1080p on 15" is great, at 17" would look awful to me.

My next laptop will definitely be 17" so I will just have to wait. Hopefully a Clevo chassis refresh with Skylake will bring 4K 17" options.
