Happy Easter

also, why is it 2 weeks'ish early this year?

More importantly, I only got back to the UK last night, so went to Tesco today for my weekly groceries, and more importantly, the traditional easter eggs. There were none. The day before easter, and there were no easter eggs in sight, the "seasonal" isle was stacked full of alcohol, and the chocolates/snacks isle had just the usual, un-egg rubbish.

Happy Easter :(

I find it a little sad that in what was once a Christian country that on the Easter festival people couldn't just either type Happy Easter to those celebrating it, or not type anything at all. Somewhat like the Eid threads.

A Happy Easter to those celebrating the Christian ressurection.

Happy Spring Equinox everybody... The feast day of Easter was originally a pagan celebration of renew and rebirth. Celebrated in the early spring, it honored the pagan Saxon goddess Ēostre/Ostara goddess of the dawn. I now see it like the solstices they are simply celebrations of the seasons, the cycles of life, the earth and the sun. Tangible factors that provide us with life and an amazing planet full of variety and beauty. Spring is a time that marks the end of Winter and the introduction of Summer, where the Sun once more returns to us to give its full energy, Life is reborn and the annual cycle of life continues. I dont think you necessarily need any God malarkey to enjoy this time of solar year :)

As a christian I have far more respect for Eid, as it isn't based upon buying chocolate for other people at £5 a pop or whatever it is, same reason I don't celebrate christmas with other people, its all about buying stuff.

Happy Eidster.
