I'm in love with the NZXT S340 idea of hiding the PSU and the cables under the cover at the bottom. I suck at cable management and I think this would be a great cheat for me :)

I'd prefer the power button/ports to be on the front, and ideally within a door. My room gets dusty very quickly and would like them to be protected but as my other half pointed out you don't see them hidden very often any more they're always out

I can do without an optical drive. Just plug one in for installing OS and that's it.

My main thought is that now I'm moving to intel and this is quite a big upgrade GPU-wise too that I want a lot of space and room for cooling as I imagine it will get quite warm.

Does anyone have an ZXT S340? Love it/hate it? Or does anyone have any other suggestions, my budget is around £50-£60

Thanks!

Dust on power switches etc should not be a problem if they are on the side of a case I would have thought, unless you have the pc in a spray paint workshop or sand wood all day next to it.

The S340 is a great case, but for air cooling it is better to have the fans on the front. Positive air pressure. Having them at the rear creates negative and air is pulled in from any unfiltered gap in the case. As the fans are not obstructed they blow air directly over your gpu and cpu cooler.

All you need to do to achieve that in an S340 is place it's fans in the front. You can even upgrade later to a pair of 140mm fans in front with a fan on top and maintain positive pressure.

The only issue with the 340 is it is thin steel so worth using washers in places such as fans or radiators on front, thin paint so fitting the PSU can cause paint to flake due to serratef screws, and the window can mark easily if you are not careful.

Not a spray paint workshop but for some reason my room is just naturally dusty, even hours after cleaning it starts to settle back in the same places o.O

That's cool, so it's basically put some fans on the front and make sure I'm careful not to scratch it :)

Do you know of any other cases that have the stealth cover for the psu with good cable management?

NZXT, Phanteks, Fractal R5, Silverstone TJ08B-E. These are my favourites, superb dust filtering, superb cable management on the NZXT and Phanteks.

It is worth watching as many review videos as you can though, as they may not suit, you requirement for dust proof switches is a new one.

What is your current case?

The dust proof thing was just a thought, I don't want the ports to get clogged up and stop working or something, but it's true you don't see them hidden much anymore.

I much more value cable management ability and cooling.

Current case is a Nova**ch Vulcan Midi V2

No ETA yet.

Evolv ATX start saving. ;)

No ETA? Says it's available on OCUK

A bit too pricey for me though it is cool, would you get a 290 TRI-X in there?

Ah I see thanks :)

Probably won't be able to put my build together until the start of May so hopefully I'll hear more about it before then and if it's in the price range it could be a contender :)

I really like the H440 but this upgrade is costing a bomb as it is so can't justify £90 for the case. My current case cost me £20 so the S340 is a nice inbetween-er ^_^ I only found out about NZXT at the weekend when my OH showed me it on offer on OCUK, had never heard of the brand before

I have a S340 and love it. It's easy to mod, small, and is priced well. I flipped mine 90° which brought my CPU load temps down 2 degrees.

Man... you have SLI with a CLC in the front?! How do you manage the temps.

I have Kraken X61 in the front of my S340 and SLI 580s, the top card gets WAY too hot maxing out at 97 degrees. Kraken radiator blows hot air into the GPUs so they don't get a cool airflow. So I just run 1 580 for now.

Looking to buy the H440 instead of my 340 (although I love my 340) but with my 280mm cooler in the front the GPU temps are terrible.

My cards are in CrossFireX, MSI R9 270X ITX, and I'm using a Noctua NH-U12S to cool the CPU. I am using a 280mm rad shroud to lift fans closer to motherboard.
I've set the GPU fan curve to max out at 40% to have a silent rig.
Load temps CPU: 52c
Load temps GPU1: 80c
Load temps GPU2: 76c

My case arrived yesterday, it's a fingerprint magnet but I love it! Can't wait to build but won't be for another 2 weeks almost!
