Currently decoraing our house and using Dulux Satinwood for the woodwork. Can I use the same paint for the radiators or is it better to use the hammerite radiator paints?

better to use a specific radiator paint. You'll find ordinary white paint on radiators goes yellow very quickly. Also some can do strange things when they're applied and you'll find they go very streaky with little you can do about it.

I think this has been discussed before and the general conclusion was if you can throw a bit more money at it just get new ones as painted always looks poor.

i had some new ones fitted, and they seem to bang out more heat than the old ones

Conversely I used Hammerite radiator enamel and it looked rubbish, far too thick.

I got a much better finish with satinwood and have used trade gloss to good effect in the past as well.

Very odd, the stuff I have is very watery. Took 2 coats to get a good finish.
