Bought myself a razer chroma a week ago. From the purple people online, as it was reduced. Used it 3 times and noticed some keys when pressed didn't make a click was just a thud when pressed. Took it back to upgrade it to a k70 RGB as i was not happy with the build quality. Needless to say the KNOWHOW people is kind of um uneducated i guess is the word for them.

I showed them the problem with it, but, they just could not understand and said it was working like a keyboard. Even though they could not hear clicking from some keys. Another member of staff came over and was trying to explain to me that there was still a bump when you pressed the bad keys so it was not faulty. I even pointed out, it says right on the box in front of them *CLICKY KEYS*

Anyway it took me 2 trips to the local purple people and a phone call to get it sorted, which i hope will be now as they have sent it back. I will have to wait 7 days to see if they refund me or not.

I guess the purpose of this post is to see if anyone else would have returned it for keys not clicking ? i think it will be my last visit to them with regard to anything PC related.

For reference to anyone else that was interested in the keyboard. It is an amazing keyboard and the software is so simple to use. Is it worth the money ? i think so at least for the price i paid (it was on sale) . But i have had a few razer products defect on me like this now and for me personally, i will have to stay away from Razer products.

Would definitely have returned the keyboard if the keys weren't clicking. The razer keyboards now use kailh switches which are inferior to the cherry mx ones they used in previous years, so the k70 is a good choice. Which colour switches are you getting for it?

Originally wanted blue switches, but they stopped selling them. I think you can get brown which is similar to blue.

Yep, blue would be the choice if you want clicky keys. Brown don't have the clicky sound but do give you tactile feedback when you push them like the blues.

Browns do still give a slight audible click, but it is nowhere near as significant as that from blues.

I have a massive penchant for MX Cherry Reds I have gone as far as buying myself a cherry red Ducky Shine 3 for use at work...
As well as the MaxKeyboard NightHawk X9 which I use at home (I was going to use this for work, however the lack of "\" on the American layout keyboard (when I work in IT and remote on to servers with UK keyboard layouts all day) was just too much to take.

For home / Gaming use a US keyboard layout has never really caused me any issues at all.

Back on topic: I would definitely have taken it back; I have rarely met one of the purple people who knows anywhere near as much about computers as I do.

Blues, Greens and Whites are the only clicky switches.

Clacking comes from all of the switches when you bottom them out, it's just the nature of the switches. You also hear a ping as they springing back.
