Winter summer wheel switch

Hmm, I never torque my wheel nuts to spec. when you get tyres fitted they always just use an impact gun anyway so I just don't really bother. I am lazy though...

Serious! May be because the jack just has a lose bar to turn rather than any sensible kind of handle.

Most jacks are like that though aren't they, so they fold up small. Just get a hydraulic trolley jack, it will makes things a lot easier and quicker in the future and they are not expensive.

I was glad to have used the torque wrench but all it really told me is that leaning into the bar when tightening will get the torque about right.

Edit. OK - I was being thick. The loose bar I mentioned above is supposed to combine with the wheel nut wrench to form a jack handle. I can see how that might have been a little faster. Just RTFM...

It'll be twice a year.

However I'm gong to take a look at how my scissor jack performs with a correctly assembled handle first!

The scissor is fine on one corner but to do all for it will be two or three times quicker with a trolley. But yeah as you say see how it goes with your current jack.
