Let me start by saying that my PC has been fine up until now.

I formatted my computer, installed my GFX drivers and got a error message saying driver detection failed. This usually happens when windows updates install the graphics driver for you so I installed driver uninstaller, cleaned the AMD drivers and reinstalled the drivers fine.

I then reset the PC and even the boot splash screen is choppy at loading, I got to the desktop and just everything was really slow. I restarted the PC again and now my PC just turns off after the boot screen. It wont let me get in to the bios.

I have no idea what's happened... Spec is 4670k, 290, 8GB DDR3, 750W PSU..... Never had an issue before now

I haven't tried that yet but I've just got it back in to windows and everything is very slow. Trying to format it again now but it's just very slow and turns off.

The power cable for my H75 had come out! CPU was over heating and turning off. How do I know if I've done any damage?

I'd be surprised if there was any damage, as you said, the CPU will throttle itself if it overheats.
