*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

@azibux1 I always use a flip case on my phones, for photo's, in portrait the flip is extra handy as a bigger grip for my left hand for steadiness, in landscape the flip just flops down, so rather than being a hindrance for photo's it either helps me or has zero effect, net help overall.

I didn't have to think about any of this it just happened as I held my phone either way when taking a photo and it would be the same for anyone.

The case has never got in the way, spigen slim armor view.

Ok if holding the phone at arms length in portrait it might flap about but thats only gona be for a weird selfi.

It's pretty crap from Samsung that this phone isn't widely available in 128GB.

I would so love to ditch Samsung but I can't as they're the only company that spec the phone I want.

I cant get Samsung switch to work between my s5 and s6. Anyone know how I can move stuff across?

Surely you can do it it via your google account?

I had a mare. Was updating my 4s so I could transfer my things and of course it bricks and I lose everything. Luckily had iCloud which I transferred via Samsung switch. Lost all my Callander details though. Never going back to apple again.

Thanks I might take a look at this still as like you say, in theory it shouldn't get in the way, I never really thought about it like that

If I can't find a decent pouch I may take this option

yup pouch is definitely the next best protective option but my flap constantly saves my screen the other types of case just preserve the phone from dings for resale but don't protect the only part of the phone likely to break from a fall that being the thin glass screen.

Spent a bit of time with the s6 and s6 edge in the o2 shop. Hated the edge, but loved the s6

Just a bit wary of Samsungs track record of rushing things and getting it wrong (last years finger print scanner springs to mind), and the over sharp camera images which seems to plague samsung phones

I picked up a 32gig Black S6 today from CPW on EE. It certainly is a beautiful phone. Build quality is superb and feels great in the hand. The screen is amazing along with the camera. Looking forward to seeing how video capture is tomorrow. Its also rapid. So so fast. Time will tell when it starts to fill up but currently its rapid and the new fingerprint scanner is miles better.

One thing to note is, the back is damn slippy. I've put it on my leg and the sofa arm and it will just slide off on its own accord. Need to be mindful of that as i don't want it dinging up the sides or smashing the glass!

Really enjoying this so far. Coming from a Z2, I was worried about the battery life, but so far I'm sitting at 4:32 hours screen on time with 16% left, on my first full battery cycle. The camera is damn good, people at work were incredibly impressed. The screen is beautiful, and the speaker actually goes quite loud. This was another worry for me coming from the Z2 with front facing stereo speakers.

As others have mentioned, it's slippery so awaiting delivering of a case! Will probably root it tomorrow using cf-root, I can't live without greenify.

What's the best deal around for this phone?

O2 refresh, free fitbit ( worth like £70 ). Pay it off instantly and you got the phone for £530 then sell the fitbit making around £40 I suspect.

Comes in at just under £490~ and unlocked

How I purchased mine...

I am pretty impressed so far, screen is wonderful, button is lovely and clicky and phone is nice and responsive.

I cannot seem to disable the god forsaken multitasking which will not go away =(

I've just done the same. Only because O2 is the only place that have the gold edge in stock.

I can't wait to upgrade from my Nexus 4 to this.

4G and a huge improvement all around! No more taking 10 seconds for a pic...

No idea what contract to get though as I have been on SIM only since N4 release.
