Hey guys,

Recently bought a new PC, below are the two monitors I use (DELL U2312HM) connected to Graphics Card and DELL 1708FP connected to the motherboard)

DELL U2312HM (1920x1080@60Hz)
DELL 1708FP (1280x1024@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Gigabyte)
3072MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (MSI) 37 °C

On games AND YouTube videos I experience slight screen tearing but it is noticeable and annoying, please help! I have enabled v-sync on the AMD Catalyst options and on games I play however, nothing seems to work. I have updated my graphics drivers and make sure that the game runs on the same refresh rate as my monitors.

Please help!

Thanks,
Tom

Oh both are connected using VGA, should I be using for the main monitor? Also should I be connecting both to the graphics card or is one connected to the motherboard and one to the graphics card ok?

VGA should have died 10 years ago - use a digital connection type (DVI is easiest as it's got fewest gotchas).

Until you've done that there is very little point trying to diagnose any picture quality related issues I'm afraid :(

Also, I'd run both from your graphics card.

Do you think the issues are to do with using VGA? Oh and I use DVI on my main montior (the white one right).

Problem with doing that is my graphics only has one DVI port, it has a HDMI and DP though, my monitor on the otherhand only has a DP.

I guess the only way to connect both to the graphics card would be to buy a DP cable? My monitor doesn't have a HDMI port.

It's a problem with all AMD gpus, you get screen tearing on the screen that isn't the primary display if you are mismatching output types.
Issue Description:

When using AMD Eyefinity technology with multiple displays employing dissimilar display interfaces (eg. A combination of DVI and DisplayPort™ connections), the user may observe screen tearing on one or two displays when moving a windowed application across the desktop, while watching a video, or when objects move across a scene in a game application.

Possible causes:

The issue can be caused by, but is not limited to, one of the following conditions:

Display synchronization is currently not supported across dissimilar display interfaces.
Display synchronization is currently not supported across multiple displays with non-identical display timings.

I have the same problem using DVI and HDMI output.

I have the same problem using DVI and HDMI output.

Well I wish I had known this before buying the card, actually got recommended this card on this site and mentioned I was using duel monitors. Great.

How come I haven't experienced this?

I have one monitor hooked up over DVI and the other uses displayport. Both on a 290.

Not had this either.. I have two monitors and a TV connected. Dual-dvi 120hz, DisplayPort 144hz and TV hdmi 60hz.

All run without any screen tear, the TV is only for movies.

Man what the hell is wrong then.. it's annoying forking out £150 for a card I was recommended on here only for it to not perform correctly.

It's not graphics driver problem.

I've tried troubleshooting this and could never find a fix which included fresh reinstalls, different HDMI/DVI/VGA cables, different displays, putting the card in a different PC, etc..

It's happened on all 7xxx and 2xx AMD GPUs I've tried.
