*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge Thread ***

O2 refresh, free fitbit ( worth like £70 ). Pay it off instantly and you got the phone for £530 then sell the fitbit making around £40 I suspect.

Comes in at just under £490~ and unlocked

How I purchased mine...

I am pretty impressed so far, screen is wonderful, button is lovely and clicky and phone is nice and responsive.

I cannot seem to disable the god forsaken multitasking which will not go away =(

Is it easy to cancel?

I used pair of scissors once and it was perfectly fine.

I tried that and had to go get a replacement sim from EE. I found the chip part was still to big after I had cut round it. I just went in a shop and they sorted it free if charge, but It was a EE sim.

If anyone interested as well. Purchased the wireless charger below and had no issues with it yet, have a spiegen case on also. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DRBFMZM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

So I went to the Samsung Experience Store in Oxford Street this weekend, I have to admit the S6 is such a stunning device. I love the dark blue; the screen, the Apple like quality and the lure of what Android could possibly offer me. The problem is, I’m an iPhone guy, and have been since my Nokia N96. I remember trying a HTC Android phone and I absolutely hated it when I’d unlock the device the time would flip down and then update rather than update in the background.

The reasons against not giving the S6 a shot:

• Stability – mostly the iPhone just works and works well, it’s reliable. Overnight, the battery doesn’t drop a single point and the HD/OS are greatly optimised.

• Service options – if I damage my iPhone or it develops a fault, I like having the option to head to the Apple store and getting a replacement phone within 30 minutes – normally, with no questions asked. Even better is the restore functionality from a backup; this puts everything back on to my phone the way it was; even my apps automatically re-download with all the individual app data restored; apps are also placed back into the previous folders. It’s the same again with my iTunes music; sound settings; email signatures – everything. It’s a direct copy baring a couple of passwords that need to be confirmed – Backups are automatic when plugged in to charge.

• iMessage – 90% of my friends and family use iPhones, very easy to keep in contact globally, for free and it’s integrated. I know we have What’sApp but it’s just not the same.

• Family sharing – I share my content with my partner including a joint social calendar – I guess this could be done via Gmail.

Reasons for wanting to give the S6 a shot:

• I’m bored of being locked down, I don’t want to JB and play the cat/mouse game again – if Apple introduced a 3rd of the functionality that JB offers, they’d clean up. I think we, as consumers are changing again, we want more options.

• Interested to see what Android can offer, I’ve read good things and the OS looks impressive

• Like the idea of LED notifications/location options etc.

Rooting is super simple on Samsungs. Flash cf-root via Odin. Never had to do a separate bootloader unlocking.

So it wouldn't matter if my bootloader was locked/unlocked? From his website it says -

If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device - with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically "OEM unlock" and wipe your data !

My iPhone 6 has been anything but stable, it crash apps at least once a day, I get all sorts of random bugs, issue with WiFi, battery can be amazing one day and horrible the next.

Bugs I get most often are:

* Lock screen just won't let me swipe left (So go to passcode or swipe left on an app), and just gets buggy and very jumpy till I restart.
* Volume meter get stuck until I restart.
* Apps reboot my device once ever few days, and crash at least once a day
* Randomly lose signal and won't return till I restart, tried go airplane mode and back but no luck.
* Handoff can be amazing at times, but at other times I straggle to just get internet tethering to either my iPad or Macbook, and takes me restart everything before it works.
* Generally iCloud bugginess, I get logged out at times form facetime/imessage and so on. No real info on how to fix things too so I end up signing everything out and then back in, sometimes that doesn't fix things.

Not really that stable these days, maybe iOS and iPhones of past where better, and I've already had most of these bugs on 8.3 which I've had installed all of 3 days.

My iPhone sucks for stability, and as for whatsapp - it works just as well on android as imessage does on iPhone. The fact that apple stop the phone doing pretty much anything in the background as soon as the screen goes off is what makes imessage seembetter. In reality I don't think it is.

Just sell that bloody thing and get something that isn't castrated. Come on - you moan enough about it now - do something ;)

Thanks for your reply.

That sounds like you have a faulty device, I have not experienced anything like that over than issues that 8.3 fixed.

I think I'm just going to order one and have a play for a couple of weeks - if I like it then I'll sell my 6Plus.

So where is everyone buying their phones from outright? I'm thinking of just waiting for the am.de to come back in stock with the blue 64GB one or just put in an order and wait.
