I need to order 32GB of memory for my new iMac, I was originally going to get some Corsair 16GB kit (8GBx2) DDR3 PC3-12800 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64 but I have just seen some Kingston HyperX 32GB Kit (8GB x4) 1600Mhz DDR3.

Both of the above are for the iMac 5K but I was wondering if there is any difference when it comes to the memory for an iMac and if so what's the best to get ?

Have you checked if there is a kit available from Crucial? Myself and a lot of others got/get ram from them.

Yeah I looked on their site and it only list 16GB kit, I guess it would be a case of buying 2 of them ?

Did you get any further with the ram for the 5k iMac, I've just recently bought one and want to upgrade the ram too and was thinking outside of the usual upgrade with Crucial as I've used them in the past. Any other brand compatible? Cheers

Why think outside the usual? Crucial works, works well and they guarantee it'll work.

I took the plunge and bought the 32GB Crucial ram after all, Yes I know it works but sometimes knowing there are other brands to consider for once. ;)
