Effort? You think dropping any junkmail like menus and that crap addressed to 'The Occupier' into a plastic box under the stairs takes any effort? It's actually a lot less effort to do that than it is to walk all the way through the house, into the backyard and down to where the bin lives.

Effort to keep it in your house for a month, taking up room.

Basically collecting rubbish.

One takeaway was posting a menu through every 2-3 weeks so I saved them up and put them back through their letter box torn up just so they couldn't re-use them.

Given how nuts they are about recycling here, we get an alarming amount of junk mail. Everyone piles theirs up on top of the letterbox, and it magically disappears. I have no idea where it goes

I have a friend who complained on her FB page about the amount of takeaway menus she got

So I saved all mine for a few months and then posted them through their door in 1 go :p

That's outstanding :D

I got a Dominos takeaway offer thing through the post, yesterday. I hardly ever have a pizza there, but I tend to keep it on the off-chance I fancy some money off. I usually chuck that in a draw and remove the old one, I received previous to it.

Checking the date on the old one and it expired the day after the new one. That's efficiency!

I just leave it in the pile with all the other unopened post......which is fine for junk mail, not so great for the bills.....or court summons' >.<

When I was a kid, we used to re-use milk bottles. Coke and fizzy bottles came with a deposit if not returned. We used to run around collecting these for a few bob. We never had the endless electrical personal devices have today so the issue of leaflet drops as a environmental issue is a little hypercritical.

Sure, most stuff went to land fill and we were running ridges on CFC gases but some of the examples of yesterday can be introduced today. The problem is people aren't prepared to compromise convenience with common sense.

It does my head in to see the like of M&S charging for carrier bags but there waste policies and unnecessary packaging , along with other supermarkets is appalling.

sorry little rant and a little off topic

The worst offender round here is Virgin. If they send me anything with a return address I RTS it. It probably makes no difference but I like to think they have to employ people to deal with their own junk mail.

The amount of election material received from Labour recently has been staggering, I'll need to set up a recycling centre if any more arrives. None received from the Green party though which would be wonderfully ironic.

Straight in the recycling bin here. I don't give enough of the time or day to do anything about it.

Today is junk mail day from the postie and she will stick 4-5 unaddressed leaflets through the letter box which are then immediately taken through the kitchen, out the back door and straight into the paper recyling wheelie bin. By far the worst for junk mail to me is the Royal British Legion magazine which comes bulging with the stuff. If I remember right the last one had 15-16 pieces with it!!

They get auto filtered in junk mail folder.

Never waste time on em.

Replying isn't smart, as it confirms your mail addy is real.
I do like to troll scammers though, and will sometimes reply for my own entertainment.
