Q&A session with Farage and UKIP. How refreshing to have someone in politics with genuine charisma and passion.
Charisma and passion? Smarm and arrogance.

I'm not going to sit through 14 minutes of Farage, did he mention the uturn on the 50k cap?

Selling yourself as the least worst second best option is an interesting tactic. But what he said is so spot on it had to be said.

The thought of having another Labor or Conservative Government fills me with dread. The idea of having a Con/UKIP or Lab/SNP coalition is worse still.

Which is why I'll be voting LibDem, and so should any other sane person.

I'd take the same again at the drop of a hat.

Totally agree, but a shake to the entire system is needed. UKIP is the only chance of that happening. UKIP/CON would be a disaster a daily mail heaven :(

Danny Alexander is respected in the treasury, etc. It's a shame he might lose his seat.

Nah, it'll be one of the highlights of the evening. Only seeing Clegg lose his seat and Farage fail to win in Thanet would be more joyful.

Yup I don't trust public school types massively vested in the status quo, old school tie, house societies and family trusts.

How is that different from a white pensioner saying "I don't trust those Romanians and their gypsy culture"?

P.S I am not supporting that statement, just pointing out a possible hypocrisy from those on the far left.

I heard a stat earlier about them getting 70% of their manifesto enacted. Although obviously they're going to be less influential if they form a coalition with the Tories this time.

Lib Dems get given way too much of a hard time over what has happened since being in the coalition IMO, they are the minor player in the coalition and the reality is there is only so much they can do, they've invested most of their energy into making changes or pushing for things where they are likely to be able to make a difference rather than pointlessly expending energy making a lot of noise about policies or changes to policies, etc. which simply wouldn't be enacted under the Conservatives.

I'm not convinced they'd be the right choice to lead the country but I think people vastly underestimate what they have achieved over the last 4-5 years. (Unfortunately this includes their own voters :S who have lost a lot of faith in them).

They failed the politics game and are paying for it for being weak and predictable.

I wish politicians were more openly vicious, it would be far more interesting.

He did actually, not a u-turn. It was the last question if you want to skip over the first 11 or 12 minutes of truth bombs :)

Five-way opposition leaders debates tonight - can't wait. Still don't understand why the SNP and Plaid Cyrmu are given air time on English TV though.

It isn't. They're both forms of fear induced bigotry. Oh no, they're different to me, I don't trust them.

Wrong, the Daily Mail have had a long campaign against UKIP, they are firmly Conservative.

I wish all the parties would do this http://www.ukip.org/fiscalplan.

Have to say, there's a lot in there I like :/.

I stopped after "phasing down foreign aid" and "reducing green levies" (page 8). Senseless and selfish party.

Ha! You're hilarious.

It would be easy to code up a robgmun insult generator. Pick 5 random words from "loony left, commie, anti-democracy, guardian reading, tofu eating...".

Did Captain Planet just become RoboCod? :D

I loved James Pond 2 on the PC, good times.

^ Only three fluff comments to respond to? Slow day for the thread :o

Well they quite liked UKIP until the General Election campaign started. Quite how newspapers are allowed to back a particular political party is beyond me - surely they should have a duty to be impartial like TV companies are?

I think it was Warren Buffet who said that foreign aid is taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries. It's a disgrace that the foreign aid budget has been protected from spending cuts when austerity has done so much damage to vulnerable people in this country.

It's only not a U-turn, as they still have no idea which way they are travelling with this one :p

At an event last month Steven Woolfe said Mrs Evans, who has written Ukip's manifesto, did not understand the immigration policy even when he showed her diagrams to explain it.

:D :D :D

If you get Labour you get the SNP running the show,.

Funny thing is 4 of the 5 are left wing looney lefts, who would cripple this country with excessive spending and taxing.

So they do deserve the airtime, so we can see them for what they really are.
