***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Well I thought my Xfire issues were sorted....seems not :(
The game only uses a max of 50% of each card and maxes out the CPU. I thought that my 3770k overclocked would be fine.....seems not! Back to one card I go!

Same for me with the junctions. Everywhere else is a steady 60fps, in the countryside with lots of trees, water etc.
 
just had a look at the steam forum for gta5,jeez its no wonder I always come back here,they sound like a bunch of kids over there (I know I'm showing my age lol)at least over here people help you out.

Brilliant fun! Think I'm just going to stick to normal MP stuff until I can rank up enough to buy decent armour etc. would have been much easier, me and Hazard are both low ranks and it was a struggle not getting killed!

I don't know how to say sorry enough for that mega fail last night. :(
Epic fun though. Loved some of the bike races, they handle so well even over mad terrain (Unlike the monster trucks or that notsosmart car!). :D
The crew looked like Charlie's 'Crack Ho' Angels, we should have taken a crew photo :D
 
Looking through the graphics card forum last night made me lol. a third of the posts had GTA in the title, I bet another 3rd of them had GTA in the opening post lol.
 
The prison break finale for the pilot is so tedious and boring :o Even more so when you retry 6 times in a row and don't even finish it 'cause the guy in the heli kept crashing! :mad: ... Ohwell :p.

All you have to do is literally hold the stick left and go round in a loop for ages, or you can try to tail-gate the jet as they get confused to where you are and just fly where ever.

I have to say though, it is nice playing with people with proper voice coms, so many people have their mics active when playing through the heist, helps a lot.

Don't worry about it, the game is for trolls and lols not try harding!

Just think though if you didn't suicide by blowing yourself up, we would have completed that! ;)
 
Played online a bit last night. Is it me or is online play less optimised? Felt like I was getting lower FPS and also it didn't seem to look as good (for example lots of texture popping when driving) and textures didnt seem as sharp as single player.

Free roam is funny. Just have to dodge the trolls :D

The easiest thing to do is google what the car looks like and look for it online. After a while you will remember what car is what :D
 
Ok guys. I posted in the Hardware section the other week regarding a PC upgrade or new build.. Whatever is best. I am looking to get GTA V and other GFX hungry games over the next year and was wondering what MINIMUM spec I need to run this at 1080p @60fps (I know there will be drops in certain parts of the game).

My current spec is this:

Athlon X2 250 @3.00 GHz
4 GB ram
Win 8.1
GTX 650

Yep. I know it die trying to even load up this game, but looking at all your specs and settings its making my head hurt. What would you recommend?

Also, would it be better to have a new thread just for advice on specs and settings for this game as people posting in here will soon be off the page due to the high volume of posts per hour in here.

You'd be better creating a thread in the General Hardware section where it will get noticed. Threads like this are too fast moving and your post will get buried.
 
I tired my best to resist but I've just ordered a new mobo, i5-4960k and a 2nd gtx 760. Glorious HD here I come. On the downside this game has just cost me £450, that's one expensive AAA title!

I had a play around with the PS4 last night and tbh it looked the same visually to me. The PC version runs at a higher FPS and has less jaggy edges but other than that I was quiet immpressed how well the PS4 version compared tbh. Best thing for me about the PC version is being able to use a 360 controller... :)
 
Got in my first half decent play session last night. Not had time to play much before due to work.

The first time turning on the TV in Franklins house I got the "This is a Power Ballad" segment of Fame or Shame! Loved it! :D

After work today I have the next 3 days off, so I'll be able to do some serious playing.
 
Is anybody else having difficulty entering missions?

I join a mission thats sent to my phone and it wont connect, i join a randon job and everybody leaves as soon as i enter...
