How about this?

That looks better.
If you shift up to the big ring at the front then back to the little ring again does the rear derailleur take up the slack or does it stick in the same position as before?

It Sat back into the position of my most recent pictures so it looks like you may have been right with it just needing a wiggle, I'll keep an eye on it and if it starts to slack off again I'll repost the issue.

Thank you for your help.

Ignoring the fact that small-small like that is an unusual combo, that chain might be a bit on the long side.

I park it up in those rings so that its not sitting tight on the cables, this reduces cable stretch as far as I'm aware? I hope It does lol

I were thinking it might be a little too long.

Anyone know what the min and max torque settings will be on all of my bike as I'm gonna buy a torque wrench.

Since my bonking on Tuesday I've felt really run down and just knackered all the time. It's really annoying :/ Managing to get out for my commutes and do gym work but doing proper evening rides or turbo trainer stuff just isn't happening. Kind of feels like I'm permanently hungover or something.

I have to enforce myself an easy/recovery week every 4-5 weeks training dependant. Probably just need some recovery?

Yeah, I think you'd be right normally but the odd thing is I've just been on holiday for two weeks so I'm probably more rested than I've been since this time last year.

I have been punishing myself in the gym I guess, though I avoid too much leg work if I know I'm going to be doing a lot of cycling the day after (which means most days I avoid leg work :p).

that's my only excuse for not doing legs!

simple logic -;

quality ride on sunday? - no leg day.
no riding on sunday? - leg day.

:o I can't do both, no way, legs jelly after squats/cycling

Started wearing bib shorts this week, they are the best thing Ive worn since been a cyclist.. They're comfy, the padding is better and nicer, they fit snugly and dont move, I need some more, deffinately do.

Only thing is, I'm getting oil on the bottom of my leg from where my leg rubs on the front crank, no idea why I'm letting my leg do this. Frustrating though.

Yeh I end up with oil on my right leg sometimes. I've seem others with the same so must be quite common

I need to get some better quality bibs for the longer rides, only got the cheapo sports direct ones. I assume Castelli are the go to bibs?

I'm very right when it comes to spending, so I went on eBay and got a replica team sky kit, although I think it's knock off, but I dont care, the Jersey is tight, probably a bit too tight but I haven't ridden in it yet I've been using my Endura Jersey still as that was my favourite before the recent purchase.

The bib is very light weight and very wind resistant, feels silky smooth and is extremely comfortable. I genuinkey do not have any complaints about it at all, literally none and after using it for around 40 miles now I can safely say I doubt I'd notice the difference between this and an official bib, maybe mine is actually official? Doubtful as it came from Asia. Haha.

I occasionally get oil on my right calf, but it only tends to be when stopped at lights with that foot at the bottom of the pedal stroke (before I rotate to top before pushing off). If you're regularly getting it when actually pedalling it would suggest you are riding with your heels inwards or your knees outwards? The occasional 'brush' or rub when you're tired/moving from standing to saddle is probably ok, anything more than that I'd suggest looking at cleat positioning and pedalling technique - it could be a symptom/hint towards something that'll cause you a problem/injury in the future (the last thing you want!)

Bib shorts really are the best thing since sliced bread, I've got 2 pairs of padded non-bibs I'm trying to find another use for and actually wore them snowboarding! They didn't help with the bruises ;) For commuting I have 2 pairs of DHB Flashlights (2 for 1 deal, so £15 each) and a pair of DHB Active's (£12 I think, now under £10!). The Flashlights are much more comfortable, the only times I've worn the Active's for high intensity/distance/long rides they've been uncomfortable and caused a little rubbing. But for commuting they're fine, if I paid the real price for a Flashlights I'd feel a little guilty about commuting in them and wearing them out... Will grab another pair when Wiggle next do the deal! ;)

Everyone loves Castelli, I had a crazy moment (for me) and tried a pair of £85 Velocissimo bib-shorts and was less than impressed. The fit wasn't good for me (legs very tight, body/bibs loose) and for the money I wasn't happy with them. Maybe if they were £30-40 I'd have kept them. As I was happy with my other DHB bibs I tried a pair of DHB Shard's and although the body was a better fit than the Castelli the legs were far far too tight! I dread to think what the sprinters wear (with their big thighs) as I've really struggled with mine...

I Exchanged the Shard's for some Northwave Logo and they're a much better fit, done several big rides and they're comfortable. I'll buy more. I've heard the Sportful are a more 'relaxed' fit than the Castelli so will probably give some a try too (been very impressed with other Sportful gear).

I guess what I'm trying to say is... Try several out. Use Wiggle's awesome 'free returns' service to your advantage even if it means buying something you don't intend on keeping just to try the sizing out (then buy it elsewhere cheaper!). Bib-short fit will be unique to the rider, the type of riding you do and even your riding style. Don't be a sheep and buy Castelli 'because everyone else wears them' ;)

Never too early to start getting into the stats side Roady. I wish I did at the start of last year. I found my first year, I just went all out all the time, and burnt myself out. By the end of last year I felt back to square one and actually slower. Now I'm being more sensible I'm seeing a steady improvement. Still not back to last summers speeds, perhaps it's the rucksack and lack of clipless pedals :D

I think it's one of those things, I love the stats and currently I can 'see' progress even without them. As a training aid they're brilliant (almost invaluable) but now I'm 'doing the riding I want to do' I don't feel I currently need the 'training' side. Guess my fairly relaxed 'aims' mean I've no real objective I can put into figures! Later in the summer/year I will! ;)

He stopped and then there was a large delay before he began moving again and mopped up every KOM on the way to the start of the ride. I guess he may have punctured and got a lift home.

Report the ride, Strava are quite good at picking them up but you can easily get around it by editing the ride.

I so want to support my local bike shop but how can you when this is the case -

Need a new 10 speed chain - nothing posh or fancy, shimano or KMC etc.

First shop - sorry no 10 speed chains in stock - will be Wednesday next week before I have any

Second shop - yes - KMC X10 SL gold chain - £49.99 that's all I have just now

Third shop - yes - shimano Ultegra chain - 6701 - £26.99 - Nearly double the price of Wiggle/Amazon/CRC etc. Or KMC X10-93 10 Speed Chain - £24.99 - again nearly twice the price of anywhere online.

I have prime with amazon so could get it delivered tomorrow to the house.

I understand shops are always going to be more expensive/overheads etc - but at nearly 80/90% price up ontop of any online place - surely that's not good for business.

I spoke to the shop I recently bought my Cube from about this sort of thing. He asked what pedals I was planning on putting on it and I openly told him I got 105 5800's from Wiggle for £44. He then proceeded to say that's a great price and he could not get within £20 of that discounting as much as possible because he would buy in 1/2 pairs and sell them, whereas Wiggle have massive stock sitting.

He said he openly encourages his customers to buy components and consumables from online retailers, because he himself knows he physically cannot get anywhere near their pricing. He said he would do the same thing and doesn't expect customers to pay over the odds with their money just to buy local. He said that he had accepted long ago it was bike sales/cycle to work/finance schemes that kept his shop going along with repairs and servicing. They obviously sell components and such but barely a big market for them to bother with.

I have heard other LBS though say how online is ruining them and making it hard for them. So there are different points of view and acceptance of it out there. It's a sketchy one for sure.

The decals are nice. They break up the black a bit and match the frame :)

Agree with the wheels on that Wilier Calpol, always loved the styling and Wilier 'look'. The wheels go well, if anything they accentuate the frame design which is always a good thing with a prominent one like a Wilier! :D

Just given it a wiggle and it sits tighter now.

It does feel like it can't go much further back though, is this a chain stretch issue?

It's very oily though, doesn't look like any part of it need a attention at all, looks to be in great condition

It does look filthy! ;)

The rear derailleur 'arm' looks to be doing all the work without the body moving enough. Probably just grime on the cable stopping it? I'll take pics of mine at lunchtime if you want a comparison?

Really does sound like fatigue from any increase in gym work.

I fiddled with my tyres last night (deflation yesterday morning after big ride on monday) after having to use my mini pump for both commutes. I went out for a blast to make sure pressure was held (was actually going to hammer a local segment) but my Garmin was 'playing up' and not picking up my S&C... Did a couple of U turns near home and on the second went to pull over while playing with Garmin. Stationary I realised I hadn't unclipped. At a T junction with cars passing infront. Cue the most unglamorous cleat fall I've done to date! Lots of arm wiggling and knees out in last ditch attempt to save myself to no avail! *splat*

Bruised ego, rashed knee, thigh and elbow. Ow.

Limped back home with my tail between my legs cursing Garmin. Realised I had the wrong bike profile selected (my trainer with different S&C!) :o:(

Commute in this morning, nothing to report. Weather is overcast and wind was cool, temperatures nowhere near the 8 degrees my weather app reported!

All about diversity now.

A LBS that I use in Thatcham has a bike-cafe and pro-bikefit service...and very few spares.
