***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Why does my game run like ****? Il be honest I havent updated drivers for at least a year but still
i7 920, 6gb, 7950

I get 30fps with a mix of high/very high 1080p and people are claiming 60fps? I dont get it....

Also easy way to make money online? I didnt get the preorder bonus (should have preordered given that I brought it on release day) so have no cash.

Had the following issue a few times when in multiplayer matches. It seems to load the map, but I get stuck on the below screen. I can bring up the menu, the weapon menu and I can see myself moving on the map and can hear me shooting and all other people moving and shooting. Just can only see my character stuck on this screen.

It doesn't happen all the time, about 4 times so far. But can be quite annoying as I'm stuck not being able to do anything that match. (I was able to run off a rooftop without being able to see, and then the screen was fixed)

Glad im not interested in GTA Online the Single Player works flawlessly. I have been playing for hours today just cruising around and being a ninja assassin and stuff hehe.

Rockstar said that GTA Online was the main focus for GTA 5 but as true as that is because the single player IMO is the worst out of all the GTA games im sure mods will fix that so go away Rockstar your drunk.

Just a curious question, What view is everyone using? On PS3 aand PS4 I was all for first person. Currently on PC, I'm finding myself switching between first and third. I'm in third more so now though. Might be because I see more of the pretty things:D

I get 60 fps on my 7950. How about using the latest beta drivers optimised for GTAV?

I'm forcing myself to exclusively use first person this time. Toggle between KB/Mouse for walking/combat and 360 controller for driving/flying/boating. Working flawlessly :D

i have same cpu + gfx card + 6GB ram,
ive not checked fps but its nice and smooth on default gfx settings (just changed res and hz to 120) and im still on the same drivers ive been using for 2-3 years

Im using just one 7950 and the game runs amazingly well with lots of high and maxed out settings, update your driver.

I usually use vsync in games, hate tearing but I can use much higher settings if I turn it off and limit framerate to 60 with afterburner/rivatuner. The only downside is some horizontal tear lines sometimes.

Initially had a nightmare running this game, thought the 7990 was having the old crossfire issues. After playing with settings it runs butter smooth. Main issue for me seems to be shadows and grass quality. Msaa down to x2 or x4 and the rest on highest. Beautiful game and really impressed with how it works and plays.

So a few days in, pleasantly surprised by the amount of work Rockstar have put in to the PC version. It's a shame it took them so long but seems worth the wait :)

Running 1080p with a mix of high/very high settings 2xMSAA with FXAA on my GTX 980. I've found that to be the best balance of visuals/performance, 4xMSAA was generally ok but I did notice the occasional stuttering around busy areas/junctions.

Was wondering if anyone here is using a 3440x1440 monitor with a single 980? I'm planning on buying a new monitor in the next couple of months and would be interested to know if 60fps is possible and how others are getting on. A few have posted videos on Youtube using very high settings and MSAA. The frame rate seems pretty awful with those settings, would be good to see how the card copes at 3440x1440 with med-high settings and MSAA switched off.

I'm trying to convince my mate that his computer is more than capable at playing the game on good settings. Can someone check the below specs and let me know what kind of performance you get and what settings?

i5 2500K
8GB RAM
7970 3GB
1920 x 1200

D3doverider will probs fix that little tearing with no performance loss.

I had a play around with the PS4 last night and tbh it looked the same visually to me. The PC version runs at a higher FPS and has less jaggy edges but other than that I was quiet immpressed how well the PS4 version compared tbh. Best thing for me about the PC version is being able to use a 360 controller... :)

Really? You thought that? I though the tessalation effects and the colour and detail were more vivid on the PC version.

Heyho each to their own :)

I'm having some troubles with the game crashing when I'm trying to overclock my card.

I use MSI Afterburner for OC'ing, and I can put the core clock to the default max without any problems, runs the game just fine (1050mhz).

However, when I enabled to option to go past the overclocking limits and go past them (e.g. around the ~1200mhz mark, what I usually use for all my games), the game loads in, but then crashes after a second or two.

Crashes with the message err gfx d3d or something along those lines (from memory, not actually playing atm). Doesn't happen in other games.

I'm fine at playing at the max default overclock, it runs just fine, but it's weird that it crashes, considering that I can run other games just fine the the OC.

I mentioned earlier I was playing it at 3440x1440. Average fps is around 45 I'd say with ultra/very high settings and FSAA on but MSAA off. At 2560x1080 MSAA is on and it's nearly a constant 60fps though. VRAM bar in the settings says with that res and current settings the game will be using around 3GB of VRAM if I remember right.

Visually the game is still sharp at either resolution and the improved smoothness of 60fps is a far better prospect than playing at 45~ at 3440x1440.

It helps that my monitor scales at 2560x1080 very very well.
