That has the face buried in your mobile phone whilst walking along the road, on a bus or train in fact any and everywhere?

And if so what are you doing on it? I might check my email sporadically is waiting on something but not much else unless I am in hospital or some such.

So what are you doing?

Absolutely. Texting my girlfriend. Checking out funny pictures on Whatsapp. Reading reddit. Browsing Facebook. Looking at my own pictures. Changing the music I'm listening to.

It's great.

I don't look at my phone usually until it tells me I need to. I might whip it out to check the time as I don't wear a watch, but that's about it.

Reading websites, buying stuff, checking my communications, reading a book on kindle for android and rarely looking at photo's but mainly reading websites.

I can't remember the last time I looked at my phone for something other than email/calls/texts. Even then I do that about twice a day.

Time to upgrade from your Motorola MicroTAC?

Oh wait, you use your phone for email..

Time to upgrade from your Nokia Communicator 9000?

I can't imagine sitting blankly looking out if the train window, even before smartphones I would buy a bevy of mags and newspapers before a long train journey.

That's impressive. How do you get around not having one?!

It is really easy as all friends and family know contact me with a purpose not just to see what I'm up to and if I'm in work well I'm offshore either on a boat of up a turbine so I'm not coming back in a hurry but truthfully i hate them and when I'm home daughters and misses phone goes on silent i hate the stupid chimes they make all the time It's my one major grumpy man thing

Looking at your phone is no different to reading a newspaper walking through the street or while on a train. I understand the annoyance when people do it during a social events but in this case it's the same argument as saying gaming is a waste of time but reading a book in bed or watching TV isn't.

Check time, reply to urgent messages or switch songs.

The only exception is a really long road I go down on the way to work, it's always empty & very boring - there I catch up with the morning news.

All this technology is making people anti social.

On a more serious note, why limit yourself to a magazine or newspaper when you have a PC and the whole Internet in your pocket?
