***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Managed to resolve my issues with the game i think (touchwood).

Problems:
Crashing to black screen(debug option), random stutters

Fresh install of Windows and some config changes for Samsung SSD (performance mode) did the treat. Incase anyone has Samsung SSDs in a RAID you will have to make manual changes to the OS.

Not ideal but I was planning to it anyway.

Just encountered my first thunder storm.

Amazing! :D

I thought the exact same thing, it was just as I was heading towards LS on Trevor's first few missions. Lightening struck over Mt Chiliad and it instantly put a smile on my face :D Wish I'd done a screengrab now.

On another note, requested a crew invite :)

Loading times are killing it for me. I'll be patient for a week, I know there is huge potential underneath.
And I wish I didn't play it on PS3, the SP on pc must be amazing.

Ugh.

Been downloading this slowly over the past few days on and off (awful broadband where I am). I'd just seen a bit of light at the end of the tunnel and broken 54gb so I was looking forward to the very real possibility of playing by the weekend.

Then suddenly my computer shuts itself down, has a brief exorcist moment of crashing and restarting itself and hangs with the mobo spewing out a debug code. A cursory google search suggests my SSD just died or the PSU misbehaved and has killed a few things. Going to have to start tinkering around.

So looks like the weekend's sorted! So close!

I don't know if anyone else gets a similar bug, but when I set up my graphics settings and everything seemed smooth and running around the 58-60fps mark. Even tested in a director mode with rain and explosions and all sorts no problem. But when I exit the game and go back in, my FPS is around 20-30fps. Same settings, just lower. But then to make it go back all I have to do is adjust any graphical setting (normally I pick MSAA) and don't even need to confirm the changes. Once I do that, bang, I'm back up to the 60fps.

I'm going against the grain... bored within hours, not all that impressed with the visuals and found the online stale - uninstalled and massively over rated.

Yes and no, SP is decent enough, graphics are fantastic, MP from what ive been able to see is the worst, most clunky multiplayer ever experienced.

Game is so bad it has a 98 metacritic score.

You don't obtain that by a game people aren't happy with.

They arent users, they are reviewers, who as always are likely paid. It has a 7.7 user review, which is still decent but dont kid yourself its universally praised.

And they seem to have improved the flying in this game.

I struggled so much in GTA IV with the flying. The last mission where you have to fly the chopper, I tried it like 30 times, but couldnt control the chopper so ended up giving up on the very last mission.

This one tho you control using the num keys which makes a huge difference!!

Just had a bit of a play with online and it seems fun. The last team standing games were fun, even with randoms. It would be good if we could have ocuk crew against another?

I got my first car following the tutorial. Had to go and fit a tracker and get it insured etc. So will this car be there every time I play? I dont have a house or garage yet.

Also I managed to have a bit of an accident lol. Tell me my car wont still be like this next time I join...

:D

I think it's 'v' to switch views, but you can set it in the options to auto switch to 3rd/1st person when using a vehicle.

Err... something weird has just happened.

Anyone have any idea why it suddenly looks like this after running perfectly? I hadn't touched any settings at all. I have since tried some different settings to see if I could get it back to normal but nothings worked. Thanks.

Restart the pc and see if that fixes things. Looks like the textures arent loading.
