***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Mines just done that, I alt-tab'd out to windows and it went like that. But going in and out with alt-tab again fixed it.

First thing I did was restart the PC but didn't work. Tried Alt tab in and out of the game a few times but hasn't worked.

Decided to take a break from sp tonight and get myself online for a little while...which turned into three hours almost!

I only really did races and got my rear end handed to me lol but its good fun.

I will need to get myself a headset soon to join you all on ts, sounds epic!

Cant believe I have knocked up almost 14 hours from Tuesday to now whilst working every day bar one where I started late to sleep in lol. Got work tomorrow as well at 8:00 but can't seem to stay away.

Messed about with my settings again tonight also and managed to reduce the vram by about 400mb, increase my fps to a consistent 100/110 and make it look nicer :) all settings on high/very high in normal graphics. Left the advanced bit alone.

I don't know if anyone else gets a similar bug, but when I set up my graphics settings and everything seemed smooth and running around the 58-60fps mark. Even tested in a director mode with rain and explosions and all sorts no problem. But when I exit the game and go back in, my FPS is around 20-30fps. Same settings, just lower. But then to make it go back all I have to do is adjust any graphical setting (normally I pick MSAA) and don't even need to confirm the changes. Once I do that, bang, I'm back up to the 60fps.

I get that as well It's a bit of a pain.

Even with my trusty 2gb 7850 and stock 2500k it's running like a dream.

Normal textures but high or very high everything else. Like others I need a headset really to get the full experience but we made do with Facebook voice calling to link us instead.

Managed to get up in the air a couple of times and the draw distance was amazing. Hats off to Rockstar for not leaving the people with older cards behind.

Oh, so then you guys don't mind if I do lots of ramming?! :D

I was being good tonight as previous nights, people seemed to be getting rather annoyed, will resume to 100% troll then :D Although it might cause a bit too much rage for TS..... :p

I do, why ram? If you get nudged when your in the middle of a big group fair do's but if you want to just ram people all game you can go find your own lobby to play in.

Headphones are really subjective, I don't think I know that many people with the same ones tbh.

I have Corsair 1500V2 which are nice, 7.1 dolb and comfy. Probably might be an idea to go to somewhere that knows music/sound quality and try on loads to see how they feel/sound beforehand bud.

Thanks for the crew invite.

Had this delivered while I was on holiday and it took ages to install from the DVDs (first DVD version of a game I've bought in many years!).

Loving it so far, even though I have finished it on the PS3 quite some time ago!

Ive got the wireless version of those. Nice and comfy and the sound quality is decent enough although ingame music sounds a little off.

Was great fun last night with the crew. I do have to admit I had a bit of a sadistic smile on my face when I crashed my buggy and about 12 people ended up knocking into me :D

Did my first street race in single player last night. The car physics suck balls.

If you get into a tussle with another car, invariably you spin at the slightest impact and they suffer no ill effects. You will be cornering at a moderate pace then all of a sudden you have no grip and spin out even though you have taken the corner faster on the previous lap on the same line with no issues. I also went around a few corners where I suddenly just went loads faster and ended up in a wall. WTF is that all about? Humps in the road that cause you to jump cause the car to fly through the air like it has no weight and upon landing it's like you are on an ice rink, and you invariably spin out. I was in the white bog standard car that Franklyn gets, so it wasn't even as if it was a beast that was hard to handle.

Additionally, the same car seems to handle completely differently in a race mission than it does in free roam..... Anyhone else feel this or just me? I have torn the road up in free roam in the same car and it seemed far more sure footed than it did in the race mission.

Also, is there any way to restart a race mission if you have a spin or a bad lap without having to get all the way to the end of the race?

Kind of silly that in a supposed sports car the only way I could win the race was to drive slower! If I put any speed in, the car would slide around like water on glass.

Use his special ability for the race if you haven't. If you're using keyboard and mouse then use the caps lock button, if a XBO controller then both sticks need pressing in! It helps a lot, but the car does handle like something fitted with ditchfinder3000's I'll agree!

Never understood why people play in first person mode, but switch to 3rd person for driving.

Surely, this removes any realism from the game when it looks like you are controlling a toy car remotely from behind/above, instead of actually being in the car?

I have another question. I downloaded the game and because there is no 'hard copy' I don't feel like I actually own the game.

How do you deal with a system crash and re-intallation or simply wanting to install on a new PC, do you have to download the thing again from somewhere?

Your purchase is registered on either Steam or with R*. If you move to a new PC, or if you do a reinstall of your current one - just log into whichever client you have got the game from and re-download it.

It isn't really for 'realism' (wrong game for that) but ease of control.
