***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Great game but every session runs out of memory eventually. 100% failure rate but at least I'm getting a few hours between crashes now.

Are the AMD beta drivers any better?

They are, but they won't help the out of memory issue.

Mine has been much much more stable since I moved my paging file from my SSD (not the one I have GTA5 on) to one of my mechanicals.

doesnt the optimized for grand theft auto 5 in change log , what does that say to you ? :D

I'm beginning to think the Steam version would've been a better purchase.

Just had a 50mb update to set me up for a further 350mb+ update. With steam, a walk in the park... with Rockstar Social Clubs ISDN internet connection, it's a different matter. :(

Yesterday's 90 minute DVD installation is a record I hope never to beat. At least the disc box had that 'new rubber' sort of smell, which made things slightly less irritating.

That's the upside of all of this; my box also had the amazing smell :D

Yes I've already tried that but it's till running out of memory. I'll try the beta drivers.

Any other fixes for the memory errors?

I've just installed the game, and I'm getting a really bad case of stuttering, no matter what the settings are, from high to low, 2x this, and 4x that, Eyefinity on, or off, no matter what, it is that bad, it is unplayable. It seems to be quite common, but mostly with Nvidia cards, but I'm running Crossfire, R9 290's ( stock ) Has anyone got fix for this ?

Crossfire R9 290's ( Crossfire on or off ) Latest Beta, and I've tried the previous Omega 14.12
4690k ( Stock )
CPU, and GPU temps, all across the board no higher than 45.
W8.1
GTA V on it's own 120Gb Intel 530 SSD

Just pulled the trigger on this and activated with the social club

The initial GTAV_Setup_Tool.exe is downloading at just over 100kb/s.. on my 80mb fibre connection.

If this is an indication of the game file download speed, looks like I won't be playing any time soon :/

Anything I can do?

For starters downloading the game during the evenings is a bad move. Set it off before you hit the sack and download overnight. I was done in 2hrs (6mb downstream) just a night before launch with the Rockstar launcher.

Either overclock your CPU or at least check what % usage it is.

Running @ 1440p with my 2x 290x's i sometimes get 70 - 80% usage on my 2600k @ 4.7GHz. CPU might be holding you back with 2 cards.

How much ram do you have?

Check mouse input, if it's on raw input change to direct input. I had stutter with raw input a post on steam fourm about this.

Mine was stuttering with a similar setup (5760x1080). Went in and turned off MSAA completely from resolution and shadows, switched all the Advanced Graphics options off, and stuttering was gone. I'm still running all the first menu at their highest -Ultra or Very High, but for me it was enabling everything in the Advanced menu that caused me issues. Now sitting at 60FPS nearly all the time and it's very smooth. Will try tomorrow enabling each of the Advanced in turn to try to narrow down which is causing me issues.

GPU memory is not added together when in SLI / Crossfire. You have 2GB of total video memory (even though the game will say 4GB, you just / by the number of cards. Mine shows as 8GB but I still only have 4GB usable).

2x 6950's is about equal to a 7950. What settings are you using and what is the memory usage it gives you ingame?

I have just tried the texture at 'high' setting and put the others to high, but severely lowered the population variety setting.

I get about 30 - 40 fps (but with some stuttering in high action areas) however, all textures are popping. Frequently roads becoming invisible. It still says I have over 600mb memory remaining (3650/4096)

It doesn't stop the popping effect until I put textures to normal and the memory usage drops to well below 2940...

strange :/

Urgh, just launched and time for an update.

Using rockstar social club really makes me appreciate how great steam is, its not the download speed that's an issue, but the fact that with steam the update would have just happened (sometimes without me noticing) and I'm ready to play when I want to, rather than only finding out there is an update when I launch the game...

I cant even load the game! Every time I click to load it nothing happens! It was fine this morning :|

This happened to me. Clicked to launch and nothing. Taks manager listed the game, but nothing on screen.

Fixed by deleting my Rockstar Social club folder from c:\users\name\appdata\local
