***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Anyone else tried enabling MFAA in the Nvidia Control Panal. It really does improve the visuals with next to no performance loss. MSAA disabled.

What confuses me is that I thought MFAA needed MSAA to work. eg. 2x MSAA with MFAA = 4XMSAA.

Anyway give it a try. Force MFAA through Nvidia for GTA exe file.
 
Here's a stupid question. If I add an online game from the rockstar social club website is there an easy way to find it in game?? Thanks

Re-downloaded the game. STILL cannot get past 3 seconds after clicking "play" on Steam where it displays "performing first time set up" after which it does nothing.

If anyone has had this issue, and fixed it, please let me know because at this rate I'm gonna ask for a refund. :rolleyes: But steam don't do refunds...

And yes, I've tried everything - disabling AV and firewall, creating a new user account (my main account name is fine, and this thing is fixed now anyway), verified game files and so on.

I've love to get to the stage where the rockstar launcher crashes, believe me I would! But, nope. 5 seconds after I click play, it's all over.

And there was me thinking life would be much easier having the game on Steam.

Tried running Steam as Admin?

trying it as soon as this update installs. So just enable MFAA in nVidia cpl then disable any MSAA/FXAA in the game?

When i run steam as admin, it's can't see my library folder, for some strange reason. All my games are installed on my NAS, I only have an 128GB SSD in my PC. All other games run fine.

I've also re-installed steam prior to re-downloading the game.

Hang on, wait.....

Steam does refunds for EU customers within 14 days of purchase updated tos 3 odd weeks ago..
The first time setup did nothing for me also but if you look in task manager ur notice high disk usage and CPU. Its unpacking the 69gb if compressed files took me 15m to finish install

Not quite as straight forward as that though, can't remember what it was but from memory if you have started the download or played the game it is void. Something like that anyway. Could be wrong but I remember reading something about this. Otherwise people would be testing games left right and center and getting refunds saying the game crashes or whatever.

I'm not sure. on mine it seems to lock to 60 on 1080p, but when I activate 1440p it's 59.

Having said that I get stutter with Raw mouse. Changed to direct and it's smooth. Had to set Shadows to softest too.
 
Just tried my PS4 controller plugged into PC. Amazing how it works with no drivers or 3rd party software. Sure the game tips show the xbox controlls, but it's only A B X & Y so very straight forward.

Just wanted to test it. If I had a bluetooth dongle I'd hook it up to the media centre PC and stream it. Especially now the wife is in bed.
 
I find people's issues with download speeds rather curious. I unlocked as soon as it was released and I got 2MB/s, with some spikes, which is as fast as my connection goes. Downloading the current update at a constant 2MB/s and even Steam doesn't do that for me.
 
Aaaaaargh! What does it take to get Packie to appear so I can recruit him?!

I know the spot where he appears. But every time I got there, as either Franklin or Michael, he's never there robbing the store. I've gotten to the point where Lester will want me to plan the first heist, but I don't want to do that until I can have Packie as my gunner.

Anyone got any tips for making him appear?
