***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I think my internet connection just isn't up to this game, either that or the last patch has ruined online for me. I struggle to stay connected to sessions with my friends (no such issue staying connected to other people) but then since yesterday i just loose connection and get bumped back to single player. My internet will be no worse or better but GTA just refuses to stay connected.

you need to get to level 12. Everything is done from your phone for buying flats and cars.if you want to rank up fast play some death match/ racing. Play your best game mode.

Being an utter noob how to I go about playing death match or racing. As described above I found a race and sat in the lobby for 5 mins and nothing happened

A fix for this a few pages back was to ensure your monitor (in Windows control panel) is set to 60. Mine was set to 59.
Sorry that might not be much help having re-read your post.

Thanks, wherabouts within Windows Control Panel? Not in the Nvidia control panel I take it?

*EDIT* Found it under 'Display'. It is set to 60hz already in both there and the Nvidia CP. Wonder why the game only shows a 59hz option?

Think I've found a glitch:

Fuil ammo - And no I didn't purchase it:

Also occasionally crashing on character switches.

Edit: Just crashed mid heist after I've done everything major! Ridiculous!

And seems lots are stuck in the same place I am now: https://support.rockstargames.com/h...haracters-during-mission-or-when-walking-dog-

My monitor refresh rate is 60hz but for some reason the game sets it at 50hz. Tried changing it to 59hz and got lots of stuttering. Changed it back to 50hz and all is fine. Is it possible to change the game setting to 60hz to match the monitor setting?

I could only choose 59hz - I solved this by following instructions for a tool called CRU :

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/825705/gta-v-59hz-instead-of-60-gtx-780-/?offset=5

Incidentally, this also solved problems I had with other games (Crysis / Metal Gear) running at 24hz

I think ive got the hardware to run it more or less maxed out. But i think like you say theres not gonna be much difference graphicly, although i love it on my xbox one. Using a mouse for shooting would be nice though, hmmm il have to think. Im tempted cos it would be nice on my tv.

So is it best to buy from steam directly or can a steam code be had else where? Or are key sites just selling the non steam version?

It won't suit everyone but my solution was to pay £42.72 for £50 of steam wallet money from cdkeys (go on their facebook site and click the "save 5%" button - when you get the code DO NOT SCREW UP ANY POINT OF YOUR ORDER or the code will not work. Eg if you change mind about card or paypal, forget it, codes toast). Go on the cdkeys site, buy the £50 of steam wallet (price changes, currently about 45) add code.

My thinking/justification was it's GTA5 on steam for £32.xx and I paid a tenner in advance for something on steam. It's completely not money wasted as I'm sure to spend that much in the next month or so on something.

as far as I know if you want it on Steam you have to buy it directly, otherwise it's via Rockstart. I did not mind paying a little more as I dully intend to Steam Stream it one day, and that process works perfectly, plus I quite like the Steam workshop should mods ever be supported down the road.

You can stream non-steam games too.

So can we start the "best race car" conversation? :D

I just started throwing money at a elegy RH8 as it might as well be glued to the road for the handling it has. The description talks about "supercar challenging" and it's... not far off :) Currently bringing a huge smile to my face anyway and for a GTA$97k car...

The whole point of getting it on the PC, and why I held off getting it on the ps4 are mods!
I will soon be flying round as Superman or driving a bugatti.

The graphical differences between PS4 and PC are minimal tbh. Being able to run at 60fps does make a difference if you have the hardware to do it

Depends what res and settings you're using because at 1440p maxed out it looks far better than the PS4 version.

The Bobcat helicopter or whatever its called is fun. Lower the hook, fly up to people then hook the car and take it for a lift.

Im sure i hooked an OcUK person yesterday. It's also practically bullet proof.

Military jets are fun too if you can see someone in the open to shoot.

I like the Infernus. Handles very well.
That Smart car thing us terrible for handbrake turns. You pretty much carry on in the same direction but spin around.
Smart car race anyone?
