GTA V 14GB VRAM Usage @ 6480x3840 (Stupidity at it's best)

Game also eats VRAM if you push up the extended distance scaling option - which overly simplified means it draws an active game world further out to the horizon rather than using static/low res background models. While it lets you push it to extremes its way beyond what you'd normally use in a game.

Who really runs 3 x 4k monitors like that?

Its basically just a test to show that nothing will ever be powerful enough.

The ingame settings memory usage counter is wrong.

With no aa it says i need 3gb vram usage but gpuz is reporting 3.5gb usgae.

Everything set to high getting 60 / 70 fps constant during the benchmark.

When we get to 8k screens we will not need AA unless you have a HUGE screen, but 4k on a 28" screen most of the time AA is not needed.

Vram is getting bit silly 6480x3840 is mental high of course thinking getting a 980Ti hope 6GB will be enough seems anything less is pointless not going to go 4K for years though just keeping to 1440P.
Would like a cheap Titian X if they dropped the price £200 to around £750 that should last me a few years lol.

When 8k is the norm if the PC gaming market is still around we are going to need very powerfull GPUs with massive vram for all those 8k photorealistic textures plus all the new filtering etc. Unless there is a qauntum leap in the way we do things thats where were heading.

The in-game VRAM estimator isn't accurate. It suggests I need around 5.5GB for my settings when I only have 2GB 670s.

At 4k with max settings including the adv graphics draw distance sliders at full the only non max settings are no motion blur and using only x2 MSAA, no FXAA, no TXAA. The fov for 1st person is also at max. On SLI titan X it's saying 9576 MB vram in the menu, not measured it in afterburner yet though. Still it's running at 59fps capped on my g-sync monitor so i'm glad the extra vram is available.

yeh but you need to half that as its sli so it only really needs 4.8GB which isn't unreasonable
