Not to mods: Had to make "another Clarkson thread" as all the others are closed now.

Sometimes a title simply can't be made big enough to tell half the story lol. Clarkson has finally revealed that his mood on the day of the altercation was heavily affected by having received news of caner in the days beforehand, he was told by doctors they had found a lump on his tongue which was in their opinion cancer but required scans to confirm. As he was in the middle of filming Top Gear those scans had to be delayed as he always put the show first.

Thankfully the scans have now shown the lump to be benign, however this explains why it has taken Clarkson so long to talk about everything. It is quite tragic that his dedication/devotion to Top Gear would end up causing it's demise :(

I've had to have treatment for stage 3 precancerous cells, I didn't walk into work at any point during all of that going on and punch anyone.

This is a sad attempt at trying to justify his behaviour by playing the cancer card.

No it's not, because that isn't what he's done. You are ignoring the context, he even adds himself that others manage to cope without resorting to violence.

Read the column, no attempt at justification is made.

Don't forget it's not just a cancer scare. He's also gone through a divorce, lost his mother and had the added stress of all his controversies over the past 12-18 months while still trying to be the figurehead of the worlds most popular TV show.

Not trying for a moment to justify his actions that day but nobody can imagine what state of mind he was in at that moment.

I was also in the process of buying my first home, whilst dealing with an alcoholic abusive father who I was having to live with at that stage.

Lots of people have stressful situations in their lives, they don't end up resorting to violence. :)

The guys going through a lot. And was leading up to it.

I have also noticed an influx in the use of the word fracas since this whole thing started. Weird that.

Just confirms that Pearce Morgan article about it.
Saying he was going to snap sooner or later, with all the stuff going on and drinking way to much.

Suck thread title which I assume some have replied to rather than the article.

He hasn't blamed it on cancer.

He's claiming the incident was the result of him not being in the right state of mind due to being told that he most likely had cancer (among other things that contributed to his mood). He delayed diagnosis/treatment in order to finish filming TG as it was the most important thing in his life after losing his wife/mother and then when that started going wrong he overreacted.

Such a shame really, had he not tried to "keep calm and carry on" things would have turned out very differently, I'm sure nobody would have begrudged him taking time off due to a cancer scare :(

I just copied the title from the news article, then replaced the article link with a better BBC one and omitted to alter it, my bad.

How's about reading the actual article instead of making up an argument in your head and expecting everyone to pretend that's actually what happened?
