Noble M12 GTO3

Left a deposit on the replacement for the R32 GTR yesterday after over a year looking for a V8 Esprit I finally found a car which ticked all the boxes...

A Noble M12 GTO3 :D

Needs a bit of work for me to be happy with it, mostly around the looks but also a few mods are needed naturally ;)

It's not quite got all the bits I was looking for in a car but was priced as such and leaves some pennies in the pot for making it my own a little. Has been resprayed in Vauxhall Yellow in the past couple of years and has barely been driven since - paintwork is literally showroom new! I'll be having the wheels refurbed to a different colour too as I'm not a big fan of black wheels :)

First order of business is probably the wheels & rear lights, looking at the faded lacquer on the spoiler and investigating the extended sumps for engine safety reasons :)

Just thought I'd share, mainly as I just had to find some people to share this with and I'm keeping it a secret from most of the guys I know :)

Handbrake gone ? ;P

Nice car btw ;)

Thought it'd make it until at least post #3 before someone mentioned that ;)

Needs tightening, passed MOT but isn't amazing and the guy lives on a hill - should have added it to my ever growing first order of business :D

Edit: On the downside, it also means the S2000 daily is going for now. I'll run the Noble as an only car through summer and then get a car I care less about for the winter :D

Brave/Foolish I'm sure live very closely, which side it falls on depends on if the car ends up broken for one reason or another :D

Not too keen on the colour scheme (well, I like the yellow) so will see what I can do about that, hoping to pick up some spare lights to play with myself and also to do something about the wheels - will have 12 wheels needing a refurb in total (S2000 to sell, gf's car if she stops hitting kerbs and the nobles) so hopefully I'll be able to get a good price and a more palatable colour for the noble :)

Can't decide if some sort of anthracitey grey would work well or if to go to bright silver... need to get some spare time on photoshop at some point :)

Will certainly get some videos up when I get the car too, it's phenomenal - pulls as hard as my skyline which was a good 150bhp up on this.

M400 version was one of the most epic road cars I've driven, very nearly bought it, lost my bottle and went with a GT3 instead. Struggled also with the metal spaceframe where my foot wanted to rest but quick as hell when working.

Nice looking car although to me they have the kit car look about them rather than production car.

So, aren't these things reliable then?

My friend went to the Ring and back in his, so I wouldn't say they are unrelaible.

The biggest problem he's had is getting the boost hoses to stay on!

It is at the end of the day a kit car though - albeit one built in a factory rather than at home by yourself, and a kit car is only as good as the builder - my friend often comments to me that he thinks my Westfield (which I built myself) is better built than his Noble - simple things like supporting cabling and brake lines with p-clips etc.

Right...

So that's not a reliability issue then?

Well, it's never left him needing the AA to get him home................... I'd class unreliable as a break down requiring recovery and a garage or spare part to fix. Popping a hose back on and tightening up a clip doesn't warrant calling something unrelable imho.

Besides, once we'd replaced nearly all the jubilee clips with Mikalor high pressure clamps it's been ok (touch wood!).

I have a friend with one these and he blew the gear box apart. Ive been told he has the M400 running gear in the GTO3 car.

Its a dammm quick scary car if a touch on the fragle side.
